Hi all,
new here. So not sure I picked the right forum. If not please correct me.
I'm a regular at www . excelforum . com. This site is under attack from Nuclear Exploit Kit Redirect since a week or so and it seems things are getting worse. The moment I visit the site I'm being attacked. It seems that even when the site is in Google search results I'm being attacked!!
Fortunately NAV protects me from these attacks, but to my surprise the site is qualified OK by Norton in Google with Safesearch switched on
How come?
Cheers!
Tsjallie

Hello Tsjallie
Thanks for letting us know. I can notify the Safe Web Team to check out the site again. Most likely when the site was tested, it was clean. If you are a regular at that site and if you know a moderator about the malware issue, then they should clean up the site. The Safe Web Team can't clean up the site.
Thanks.

Yes, Safe Web rankings show the status of a site at the time that Norton last visited the site and tested it. What you are seeing are Intrusion Prevention alerts that are responding to a current threat that may not have been there earlier. Some browsers do DNS prefetching by default, meaning that they will actually load pages that come up in a Google search in the background. If there is an active exploit on a site, you can be attacked in this way. Best thing to do is to disable this "feature" - in Chrome it is called "Prefetch resources to load pages more quickly."

Hi Tsjallie,
We have manually analyzed the below domain and found it to be malicious. So we have modified its rating to red in safeweb.norton.com.

Hi Cops,
thx. This will probably save quite some visitors unaware of the thread (and possibly not well protected).
BTW, I see it marked grey, not red. But I think it'll do.
Cheers!

I don't trust Google, but to qualify it as "an invasive trojan" ........ Mwah.

Hello
When you created the thread, you did not say that the thread needed a solution.. You created the thread as sharing information, so no solution can be picked and marked as such.
Thanks.

The Excel Forum facebook says the site is clean. And certified by Securi.
Can you analyze the site again?

Re: Norton Security in Google telling me www(dot)excelforum(dot)com is safe, but it's not
Hello
Please remember that the Safe Web ratings are static meaning the rating is from the time it was tested. It might have been cleaned up since the time of the scan. I will ask the Team to scan it again.
Thanks.
