Norton Security: How Do I Navigate To Settings?

I recently posted a question and the solution to that question appears to require access to a 'Scans and Risks' tab, however in my Norton Graphical  User Interface I cannot see any tabs, the picture attached is all I see.

I suspect I'm using Norton Security Standard (trial). I tried finding options/settings via the website too and found nothing, and searched my computer to make sure I was using the correct Norton application & this is the only one I found, thanks.

Your 30 day report should have been started from the main Norton screen. Next to that option should be the Settings link.

You need to be logged into a Windows Admin account to be able to access most Settings in Norton.

Oh I see, it was because my Windows 10 laptop decided to replace my local administrative-user with my Microsoft (Outlook/email) account, after signing into a different user & accessing the Norton application then back into my main (Microsoft account) user the 'Settings' tab decided to appear - I assume this is a glitch of some sort & recommend Norton try to fix it.

If Windows 10 decided to switch your user accounts, it sounds like a Microsoft issue. Norton cannot change which Windows user you are logged into.

True but it was that the Norton application failed to realize this therefor it didn't update automatically & I didn't know how else to update it. Would be good if it had updated itself automatically or at least notified me because had I not switched users I would've never realized the problem's source. But I suppose this may be asking too much, anyways thanks for being an excellent member on this forum.

Re: Norton Security: How Do I Navigate To Settings?

I'm not sure there was anything for Norton to realize. You somehow got logged into the MS account you use for Outlook. I take it that is not an admin account. You then opened Norton, and you could no longer access the Norton Settings. Is this correct?

If so, Norton is working as it should. When you then logged out of that Windows account and logged into the local admin account, you saw the Settings again. Just as it should be.

What you have to try to figure out is how you, seemingly unknowingly, got logged out of your admin account without your knowing. Do others use the same computer?
