Norton Security for Mac 4.0 and widgets

Hi,

I have he firewall up and running and it seems that all the widgets I have that access the internet (weather for example) won't work.

I don't get any pop-ups asking me to allow the widgets to connect to the internet.  I then tried to enable them manually by adding the to the allowed applications but in vain since it seems only .app aplications can be added.

How do I fix that ?   Thank you !

Re: Norton Security for Mac 4.0 and widgets

Hi,

Do you use the Application Blocking feature of Norton Firewall? If so, make sure the "Dock" application and "DashboardClient" application are allowed to access the Internet. Those applications "host" the widgets.

Both of those applications are in /System/Library/CoreServices. Since it should alert you by deafult, you might have accidentally dismissed the alert, so look in your list of applications first. If you see the applications in the list, change them to Allow. If you don't see them, try adding them manually.

Thanks,
