Norton Security for Mac Won't Open Correctly
With the most recent update of Norton Security for Mac (v7.1.0), I'm having issues properly opening up the application. I have the most recent update for my OS (v10.11.15 OS X El Capitan).
In the upper right-hand corner of my operating system's menu bar, the Norton icon (circle with a check in it) now has an "X" in the lower right corner of it, indicating something is wrong with the application. When I click the icon, the drop down menu provides a menu item called "Fix Now" (see attachment, "Fix now.pdf"). I click this, but nothing seems to happen. My cursor simply changes to that colorful spinning "beach ball" icon.
Also, when I click the "Norton Security" menu item in the upper-left hand corner, it has the word "(null)" next to the menu items "About," "Hide," and "Uninstall" (see attachment, "Null.pdf").
Clicking "Uninstall" didn't do anything, so I tried to reinstall the software by downloading the command line program that clears out all Norton software files as well as the application itself: RemoveSymantecMacFiles.zip.
That didn't seem to help as I get the same issues when I downloaded and re-installed Norton Security after the command line tool cleaned all my Norton files out.
This is an issue with the morst recent version of Norton Security, so I imagine that this should be a high-priority bug and I expect to get a resolution (or at least get immediate feedback) shortly.
I'm paying a subscription for this applciation and my computer is at risk since the application isn't running properly. So, it's pointless to keep paying for this if it doesn't work.
