Norton Security needs reinstall every 2 or 3 weeks
I have a reoccurring problem where Norton security fails about every 2 weeks and needs to be reinstalled after removing all files. This has happened over 10 times and I'd like to figure out the cause as its getting annoying having to do this.
The way it usually happens is that I will notice the check mark logo does not appear upon startup, then I try to launch Norton manually, sometimes it will hang there and sometimes it will open with warning messages and "fix this issue" displayed. Hitting "fix issue'" button worked once but the rest of the times I've had to do the uninstall/reinstall routine to get it back.
Notes: I do tend to leave my Mac (Mac mini Server, Mid 2011, 10 Gigs RAM, Sierra) running for long periods of time with lots of programs, sometimes days. I have noticed that quitting Safari seems to help problem reoccurrence somewhat. I also have Clamx installed which scans my incoming email, it occurred to me that it could be be a possible culprit.
I know that its possible that Im just overtaxing my little old Mac by leaving it on so long, in the past it would sometimes slow down after being left on for a few days but I would just quit some programs or restart and things would be ok again but adding the whole uninstall/reinstall routine of Norton adds hours to this task, any ideas?
