Norton Security replacing NIS?

I have been using NIS for several years. It has generally worked well. One feature that I use is the Identify Safe for passwords (and am hoping that the current problems with the newest Firefox are solved pretty soon - it is a really problem for me).

My current subscriptions run out in a week or so. Looking at the Norton's site, it would seem that NIS is replaced by Norton Security (but there may be options to renew NIS??). So should I be purchasing that and replacing my NIS with the Norton Security application? Looking at the description, I do not see the Identify Safe listed as a feature of Norton Security. If it is not, I don't think I would want to migrate to that product, but at the same time, do not want to using something less than the best security application.

I'd appreciate input and suggestions from others here in the forum.

Thanks

Tom

Re: Norton Security replacing NIS?

If you are currently using v22.5.4 you won't see a great deal of difference with NIS in the UI or features.  The big difference is the number of devices you can use NS [Deluxe] on [5] compared to NIS.  If you need more devices covered, NSwB [Premium] covers up to 10 devices.

Yes, it still has the ID Safe feature.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Thanks for that info. I'll just go ahead and purchase NS as a replacement for NIS.

Hi,tlehman. If you purchase and install NS and have time left on your NIS sub, contact Support and they will add the remaning days to your new product.  http://www.norton.com/chat

Re: Norton Security replacing NIS?

Thanks. There was less than a week remaining, so I just let it go. I've installed NS and it seems to be working as expected. As was noted earlier by Krusty, I don't really see much difference from NIS.

Thanks for all the input here. It really is a great resource. Now, I just hope Nortons gets the fix done for the vault for Firefox. This is really a major inconvenience for many of us.
