Auto Protect blocked a file that is OK and I need to install. How do I stop it from doing this as I really need to install this?

First we need to know how you can be so sure the file is in fact not infected. If you bypass the Autoprotect you could be putting your system at risk.

If you are sure of the risk you are taking, you need to find your History and look for Quarantine. Find the entry for the Autoprotect action that removed your file. Click on details and you should see an option to restore the file. You should then see an option to ignore the file in the future.

Sorry if the instructions are not as precise as you may need, but I use Norton Internet Security and have no entries in Quarantine to test this for you.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
