Norton solution to SW not opening in Windows 10 Doesn't work

Norton 360 says they are compatible with Windows 10...  Well... after Norton wouldn't open when I upgraded to Windows 10, I followed their instructions THREE TIMES... uninstalling and reinstalling to have it work for a day and then not open again... so they lied. I've been with Norton for 15 years and today is my last... Done...

How did you uninstall and reinstall Norton 360?

The latest version which is compatible with Windows 10 is version 22.5.2.15.

Can you let us know what error codes are shown, if any. Would you be good enough to give a few more details as to how your Norton 360 is not working.

I guess the upgrade to Windows 10 went smoothly for you.

With a few more details the users in the Forum should be able to help you.

The first two times I uninstalled from Programs & Features and always reinstalled from my online account and had the release you noted. The last time I used the Norton Removal tool and then reinstalled from my account. After rebooting, my computer was very slow and I was having trouble opening applications. But I rebooted again and then everything worked well. The only issue is that my HP Simplepass Fingerprint scanner was not working and the driver was showing a registry error... but I uninstalled that driver and reinstalled it and it is now working fine.

So far Norton is working in that I am able to open it. Normally it will work for a day or so and then stop opening... so we'll see.

The error code I was receiving was 3109,1.

And yes, the Windows 10 upgrade went very smoothly.

Could the error code have been 3019,1 instead?

Sorry for the delay in replying to your post, I fell asleep after dinner tonight  however, before eating I did look to find the error code you posted and could find nothing.

I see that Tony Weiss has kindly offered a reason for this, perhaps you would be good enough to confirm.

If this is the case perhaps you may wish to have a look at the information here KB Article which may be of help.

Yes ... sorry ... it was 3019,1 ....  and I did try to follow the KB Article... but when I right clicked, the only option that would work was to run live updates and that's when the error notice popped up. Thanks!

BTW... day two and it's still working.... so keeping my fingers crossed... , maybe using the Norton Removal Tool vs. Programs & Features worked... we'll see...

I have just recently noticed another users with a similar problem. Windows 10 downloads with Fast Start-up automatically enabled which may prevent a number of programs including Norton from functioning properly. The users turned it off, shutdown their computer, after the restart matters were resolved.

If you are not familiar with the Fast Start-up facility and turning it off you may wish to have a look at the advice detailed in the link below:
