Norton Studio with Norton Security

I am a licensed user of Norton Security and running the latest version, on Windows 10 with the latest updates.

No issues to report.  It displays "You are Protected" in green, with protection updates = current and a scan a few hours ago.

Question:  I am also using Norton Studio and it says I'm running "Norton Anti-virus installed".    Is this a mistake?  I am not using anti-virus, but Norton Security for windows.   I confirmed this by reviewing the list of installed software.

Why doesn't Norton Studio say "Norton Security" installed ?

Thanks.

Hi jjy0912,

I have found more information about Norton Studio for you, and here is the link to get there:  https://support.norton.com/sp/en/nz/home/current/solutions/v74591395_nst_retail_1_en_us.

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

jjy0912. Norton Security IS an antivirus suite without question. What you may be having an issue with is the wording on the Norton site itself. Are you saying that, within the Windows 10 Studio app, you are clicking the "Management" icon which then takes you to your Norton subscriptions and devices listing? And this is where you are seeing this? To quick reference your actual product open your Norton dashboard, click "help" at the top right, then click "about". Compare that information with what you are seeing from Norton Studio. Also, ensure you have "remote management" ENABLED on all your devices. If they are online they should refresh and be seen in your list within your account. Let us know what you see and any differences there may be.

Cheers

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

SoulAsylum:   Thanks for your response. When i click on the Management icon within Norton Studio it launches a browser page that correctly identifies my devices (Windows, IOS, Android,etc.).  All have a green checkmark with the word Protected in green.  Also, the Remote Management option is showing as Enabled on Windows 10 Norton Security.

However, the difference is in Norton Studio app itself:

It correctly identifies my mobile devices as having "Norton Mobile Security is installed", but the Windows 10 entry says "Norton Anti Virus is installed".

Also, on Norton Studio app, it has the mobile entries with the number of days remaining of the subscription:

                       Subscription Status:  xxx days  left

The Windows 10 entry has no entry for Subscription Status or number of days remaining, and is the only one that says Norton Anti-virus.

Any thoughts on why the Windows 10 entry is missing the subscription status or number days?  I'm wondering if I should uninstall Norton Studio and re-install.

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

From the link that MachineFingers gave above, did you check that your Win 10 system has the Remote Management setting turned on in Norton Security?

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

Hey peterweb,

I did try it with remote management up, but that is not showing up anything.  I am not sure if jjy0912 is having the same problem, but remote management has never worked on my end.

What specific version of Norton Security do you have? There is a basic version that is called Norton Antivirus Basic. It has no firewall and covers one device. That could explain what you are seeing.

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

Yes, Remote Management is on for the Windows 10 system.  There is a green slider icon, with the word "On" next to it.

Also, the version of Norton Studio is 2.2.0.17 - and downloaded from the Microsoft Store on Windows 10.

But is it the Basic, Standard, Deluxe or Premium version?

Re: Norton Studio with Norton Security

I have Norton Security Deluxe subscription with multiple devices.  The subscription is active.
