Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection not present in Manage Add-ons

Hi,

My Norton 360 Premier subscription was almost expired and because Norton 360 is end of life, I decided to install Norton Security. The installer detected Norton 360 and uninstalled it. Norton Security was installed succesfully. After the install I got a message that I have to select another browser then Microsoft Edge. I selected Internet Explorer as default browser. Then I went to Manage Add-ons to activate the Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection, but it's not there. How can I install them?

I upgraded Norton on another computer and the Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection is also missing.

P.S.: A funny thing happened. The desktop icon says Norton 360 Premier instead of Norton Security.

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,
Sven

Re: Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection not present in Manage Add-ons

Hello Sven

Please turn off Fast Startup. Run Live Update to make sure you have all Updates. Please restart your computers. Make sure that you have made IE the Default Browser. Have you reinstalled your Norton program since you upgraded to Win 10?

Thanks.

Re: Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection not present in Manage Add-ons

Hi floplot,

I turned off Fast Startup, uninstalled Norton, rebooted and run Norton Removal Tool. After the tool I rebooted, deleted the Norton Installation Files, redownloaded the Norton Security Trial. Then I installed it, logged in and run the Live Update until no updates were found. I rebooted and opened Internet Explorer and was able to enable the Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection.

Even the desktop icon is correct.

I haven't had the change to test it on the other computer, but I think if I do the same it will probably solve the problem.

Can I turn on Fast Startup?

Thanks you very much for the help.

Kind regards,
Sven

Re: Norton Toolbar and Norton Indentity Protection not present in Manage Add-ons

Hello Sven1973

Sorry for the late reply. You are very welcome. I would keep Fast startup turned off. Norton and many other programs need to have Fast Startup turned off.

Thanks.
