norton toolbar & FF 3.5 RC3

just installed ff 3.5 RC3 and it said norton toolbar is not compatible - since this is the final release (we know that all they'll change - is remove the RC) when will the toolbar be upgraded to work with FF 3.5?

Re: norton toolbar & FF 3.5 RC3

As for the Release Candidate of Mozilla Firefox, it is explained in the release notes that:

"While this release is considered to be stable, it is intended for developers and members of our testing community to use for early evaluation and feedback. Users of the latest released version of Firefox should not expect all of their add-ons to work properly with this milestone."

It is a pre-release version, which contains the desired functionality of the final version, but which needs to be tested for bugs; the status between beta version and release version. There may still be source code changes to fix defects. There may still be changes to documentation and data files, and to the code for test cases or utilities. New code may be added in a future release. So, it's difficult to develop add-ons and functionalities for each pre-release versions. Once the final build is released, Symantec and other Addon manufacturers will update their programs to work with new build. It will be similar to the updates released by Symantec after the release of Mozilla Firefox 3.0.
