Norton Utilities 14

I have been running Norton Utilities 14 but recently replaced our PC hard drive.  Customer support sent me here to find out how to get Norton Utilities 14 reinstalled I have the product key but don't seem to be able to download from Norton.  Any help would be appreciated.

NU 14 is End Of Life, but you can download it by clicking on this link.

Re: Norton Utilities 14

Thanks for the quick reply.  The link let me download and install. When I open the Utilities program it says it will expire in 30 days.  And when I enter the product key to activate, it gives an error message.

Re: Norton Utilities 14

Yes, it is EOL and no longer supported.  If you feel you need NU then you might consider buying NU16, but that hasn't received any updates for a few years now and could also be considered EOL at any time.

Re: Norton Utilities 14

OK.  Looks like I might just need to abandon Norton Utilities.  Glad you gave me the heads up on 16.  I do have Norton Security Deluxe.  Maybe that is all I need now for a basic home PC environment.  Your thoughts?

Re: Norton Utilities 14

Norton Security is quite good at protecting computers and in my honest opinion that is all it should do instead of incorporating so called tune-up utilities.

I would normally recommend CCleaner to clean up unneeded files but with their latest release seeming to be becoming ad ridden and bloated since Avast bought it I can't in good conscience recommend that to you either.

Windows looks after your hard drives and you can clean some unneeded bloat using Windows built in Disk Clean-up.

Sorry that I can't be of much help. Maybe someone else in the community can offer other suggestions.

Thanks for your help, Krusty 13.  Thought this was going to be easier.  I understand Norton has to have an EOL, but should let you continue to use what you bought.  :-(  I'll probably just use Windows tools for now.  Thanks, again for the assist.

Re: Norton Utilities 14

Hello glmcvo Here is a decent alternative for you. You also may want to give Acronis a try. There is a free trial before you purchase here. If backing up is important this is a decent alternative.

Cheers

Re: Norton Utilities 14

Thank you for all the help and suggestions.  Norton customer support called me back and we got to a workable resolution.  To bad they didn't do that right away and save us all the trouble.  Thanks again.
