Norton VPN disconnecting internet connection issue.

I have read other forum posts about this issue, and none seem to have found a solution as of yet, this started my last renewal, before it always worked fine, you turn on the VPN and my internet disconnects, I turn the VPN off and I am back online, I have tried reinstalling etc. But nothing seems to fix it, has anyone found a solution for this of yet? So far I haven't found anything other than others posting about the same issue.

Um, did you try Google < Internet gets disconnected when VPN connects > 


For Norton technical issues please include details for faster assistance from our forum Gurus and contributors:

  • Norton product name and version
  • Operating system
  • Norton error message / error code / screen shot
  • Steps to reproduce issue

Note: DO NOT POST any personal information(email/order details/account ID/Product key/Full name/ address..etc) in public forums posts/comments or share with other forum customers.

If you mean have I used Google to search for an answer? Then yes, that came up empty, since this is a Norton product and I pay the yearly subscription, I would think this would be the best place to find an answer, why I decided to try the Norton forum for a question on Norton product issue.

Okay....my Google search found a lot of pages talking about as you report.

Does Norton report an Error message?

I tried the recommendations that came up on Google search, and none of those solved the issue, and from what I read for others it didn't help either, this might be an issue with some users and not others, I am not sure, I ruled out my DNS since it is the same DNS settings I have used for years on the same provider and it never had an issue till the last change, maybe it will sort itself out next time in the next subscription not sure, might come down to go back to another VPN since I don't have any issue with them, I just started using the Norton one since I am paying for it and I only use it here and there, but I will just go back to the free one I have till it gets sorted out if it ever does, thanks for the response.

Maybe, try Norton Member Services. 
I recall reading user report.... Norton chat support sorted their VPN connection issue/s.  I do not recall their issue/s. 
My connection issue/s (not your issue/s) was sorted, as I recall, changing router FW setting, changing DNS n'or reinstalling WAN Miniport drivers.
