Norton VPN more than one connection

I have a laptop computer, connected to my modem by ethernet with VPN turned on. If I disconnect from the ethernet and switch to WIFI VPN blocks the internet on the WIFI connection even though it's the same modem. Is there a way to overcome this by configuring VPN?
