Norton Wifi Privacy very, very slow on Windows 10 Desktop

Sometimes it is ok.  But mostly it is not.  Using speedtest.net on Firefox (latest release), Windows 10.

VPN off   Up = 71.6Mbps,  Down = 11.6 Mbps.

VPN on  UP -->  usually doesn't work.  mostly I get a big red "Latency Test Error" message.

VPN on Up --> when it does work.  Up =  0.3 - 0.5 Mbps ,  Down = 0.17 Mbps.

This is unacceptable. Basically I have to turn off for just about anything.  I bought a 10 seat license for Security Premium and Wifi Privacy.... and I can't use wifi privacy at all.  I've tried it on an android tablet pretty much useless.  On android phones here at home WiFi calling won't work with the VPN on....so to prevent accidental issues we haven't even installed it.

I should add..... WiFi Privacy was working ok. But I had to turn if off/on now and then (several times a day). Sometimes it wouldn't come back on (stuck on connecting) so I would re-boot. A week ago I upgraded my internet from my old Time Warner Cable service to the new Spectrum service. Same price but instead of 20Mbps I get 200Mbs total. Since this upgrade, WiFi Privacy has been far worse.

From your 2 posts, it seems that there must be something wrong with your new internet service.

VPN off   Up = 71.6Mbps,  Down = 11.6 Mbps.

If you are supposed to be getting 200Mbps service and only get 11.6Mbps with VPN turned off, the VPN is not involved with that performance degradation.

To verify this number, uninstall Norton Secure VPN and run your speed tests again. Maybe even try a different browser as well. I have seen a couple of updates to Firefox lately, and it is even possible that that may have affected something.

If you are still seeing considerably less than 200Mbps, you need to contact TWC and have them diagnose the speed issue.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
