Norton wouldn't open. Also wouldn't let me run the uninstaller

Clicking 'Open' on the Norton icon didn't open the Norton control panel. I tried running the uninstall program but Mac wouldn't let me open that with Control-open. Then NeikeV2Provider kept popping up and preventing access to the Internet so, I dragged the program icon from Applications to Bin and in System Preferences Network I switched off what I think might have been the VPN. Norton's automated chat system is useless - surely there should be an option to talk to a person if the stupid computer doesn't have an option for the issues I have tried to describe? I don't have hours to waste on a phone call and probably wouldn't understand what they were asking me to do anyway. Please HELP! Driving me nuts.

Re: Norton wouldn't open. Also wouldn't let me run the uninstaller

I took the plunge and contacted Telephone support - surprisingly, only a couple of minutes' wait. Lockinder accessed my computer, did an amazing job - only took 10 or so minutes, not the hours I envisaged. VERY happy. Thanks. One of the issues was that the Uninstaller required an Admin password. What I didn't realise was that nothing would show up on the screen when I typed that - so I thought it wasn't accepting my password. No asterisks or feedback of any kind. Bizarre. Thanks
