Not receiving emails from Product & Service Announcements Blogs

I am subscribed to the Product & Service Announcements Blogs.  On April 27 I received an email with Subject "New post in Blog: Product & Service Announcements."  I opened it, expecting to see a product announcement (such as a new version), but instead it just said "27-Apr-2021 | 12:01PM  Sunil_GA created Test.  Test."  I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that this went out to all (or many) blog subscribers as a test related to the new Community format.  But now I see that, since then, there has been at least one new entry in the Blog, and I did not receive it.  (I checked my spam folder to ensure it didn't go there.)

I just now unsubscribed then re-subscribed, hoping that will "goose" it.  But I thought I'd post here as well in case there are any suggestions or known problems with the emailing of updates from the Product & Service Announcements Blogs.  Awhile ago (maybe a year?) I stopped receiving the announcements, and Sunil_GA was helpful in getting them to resume for me.

I'm supposedly subscribed to receive email notifications when new announcements are posted in the Product & Service Announcements blog but haven't received any for quite a while now.

How did you subscribe to / unsubscribe from email notifications for that Product & Service Announcements blog? I can't see any obvious way to do this in the new Community UI (i.e., I can't see an Options button that I can click to subscribe to / unsubscribe from the entire blog like I can for Forum boards as shown in the image below).

Thanks for the feedback.  It sounds like your lack of email notifications may have pre-dated the format changes here.

To unsubscribe/resubscribe I went  to Account -> Profile -> Subscriptions -> Forums/Blogs you follow.

There was only one blog listed there, for Product & Service Announcements, the only Norton Community blog I have ever subscribed to.  To try a toggle "goosing", I first clicked the unsubscribe link next to it.  The unsubscribe link then changed to subscribe, so I clicked that.

But of course that method wouldn't have been available to me were I not already subscribed to the blog.  So it does seem like something is missing, as you describe.

Thanks for suggesting that I look in Account -> Profile -> Subscriptions -> Forums/Blogs You Follow.  I would have never thought to look there myself.

I tested as you suggested and confirmed that you can toggle the Unsubscribe / Subscribe link if you've previously subscribed to the blog.  Unfortunately, if you click "Unsubscribe" (i.e., without toggling back to "Subscribe") and then log out of your Account, there is no way to re-subscribe to that same blog.  I've posted a bug report in Sunil_GA's Welcome to New Community UI so he's aware of the problem.

Since I was the first in this thread to mention unsubscribe/resubscribe in this thread, I should reiterate that that didn't help.

Like you, I was already subscribed to Announcements, but stopped receiving any email notifications around the time the new forum format rolled out.

On 5-27-21 I did receive an email with the subject "[Norton Community] New post in Blog: Product & Service Announcements," but -- just like the one I received on 4-27-21 -- all it contains is a timestamp followed by  "Sunil_GA created Test.  Test."

That was my experience as well. Account | Profile | Subscriptions | Forums/Blogs You Follow indicated I was subscribed to the Products & Services blog but I stopped receiving notifications after the new Community UI went live at the end of April 2021.

I have not tried the unsubscribe/resubscribe workaround noted above, yet. 

If you try this workaround just be sure that you click the "Unsubscribe" link and then immediately click "Subscribe" to try and toggle your notifications back on.  Once you log out of your account (or perhaps even exit and browse back to the Community threads) there is no way to re-subscribe from that Subscriptions tab as I demonstrated  <here>.

There is still no Options dropdown list  on the main page of the Product & Service Announcements blog that will allow users to subscribe (or re-subscribe, in my case) to receive notifications when new blog entries are posted.

Today I received an email notification from the Product & Service Announcements  blog (about the release of Norton Security for Mac 8.6.6), so hopefully that means the issue has been resolved.  I'll wait a bit for any other comments before marking as Solved.

Sorry, I have no way of knowing if notifications are working again because I unsubscribed from the Products & Service Announcement blog in my user profile at Subscriptions | Forums/Blogs You Follow and I now have no way of subscribing again (another known issue with the new platform design I reported on 14-May-2021 in Sunil_GA's Welcome to New Community UI).  If you and peterweb are both receiving notifications again it's probably safe to go ahead and mark this particular issue as solved.

Like every-one else, subscribed to product announcements, profile option to Unsubscribe so am subscribed & have been for years but still not receiving emails re product updates etc relating to 360, been like this for a while now. Do get some relating to I-Phone etc., week ago notification came thru' for update for MAC 8.6.6 - but I am on the Windows edition, these are the ones not coming thru' - very strange!. It appears some notifications are coming thru', are they actually being sent out in the first place for the 360 edition?

I see that I likewise failed to receive the notification for 22.21.6.51 for Windows (posted 7-20-21, edited 7-22).  Since it looks like the apparent resolution in notifications didn't "stick", I've removed the Solved designation from this thread.
 

Did anyone else reading this receive notification of the announcement for 22.21.6.51 for Windows?

Today I got the email notification of the announcement for Norton Security for Mac 8.6.7. Hmm, is it a coincidence that the last announcement I received -- creating a false impression that this issue had been resolved -- was for Norton Security for Mac 8.6.6? In the interim I've failed to receive about ten announcements. I'm on Windows, BTW.

Same here, also receive occasional notifications for phone updates but NOTHING for Norton 360 for Windows. Used to be a time when used to get notifications in English, French, German & Japanese for same version update. Conclusion must be they are not being sent out.

Version 22.21.9.25 now received as MUI files - NO notification still about product updates - just came across files when checking auto LUD update history as it took a few seconds longer than normal on background tasks screen.

Last notification I had was mid February, had others for MAC during this time + discontinuation of Family for  older PC's so we shall see. Also had a couple of 'Test's but these were from Sunil

Another update in the system version 22.21.10.40, MUI files found on checking this afternoon in history of auto LUD. Once again NO NOTIFICATION received, luckily did not run manual LUD otherwise would have installed this update unknowingly. Want to do it in my own time so as not to interfere with what I am currently doing. Couple days ago, once again, received email notification about MAC update - why is NORTON not issuing these for Windows editions?

Yes, I too received the recent MAC announcement, which is irrelevant to me, but not the one about 22.21.10.40, which I would have liked to receive.  Weird, and it continues like that.  At this point, I've given up on expecting a fix.

I've done the same. The point seems to have been missed by Norton. I have been subscribed for years, the last notification actually received relating to Windows was February time, Have had notifications about MAC updates & a couple of Tests from from Sunil_GA but NO notifications after these tests. It appears the subscribe/unsubscribe, from these posts, you could unsubscribe but then not subscribe. although this appeared to have been solved the beginning of the month where I un-subscribed & then the subscribed. 22:2110.40 blog announcement on 1st Nov & amended 3rd November - NO notifications received which is the problem - subscribing Norton does not issue notifications.

Same here. Appears NO notifications at all coming thru' now. I am in UK so normally pick up notifications first thing in the morning day following date on the actual notification, so should, on that basis, received yesterday morning (30th Nov). Nothing received either this morning. This is after Norton assuring us that it had been sorted. Still receiving 'general' emails but not those about product updates.

Like lmacri and mgirons, I failed to receive a notification for the Nov 29 announcement. Since it will soon be 7 months since my original post about not receiving notifications and it's still not fixed, I'm ready to just give up on any expectation that the issue will be successfully addressed. I won't be posting about this any further unless I notice notifications for at least two consecutive announcements coming through.

Yes, the issue seems to be only with blog notifications. We are looking into it and will update once we have more detail on the issue and fix. Thanks for all the details provided.

Today received product update notification but it  is for MAC, the last MAC notification did not get issued although previous ones did. Still waiting to see when we next have a Windows update, will the necessary notification be issued?

Update :- Just looked into LUD history and few minutes ago received MUI files for version 22.21.11.46 - no notification yet nor any mention in product update blogs, last entry for the above mentioned MAC release.

Please NORTON, sort this out NOW, no notifications on Windows releases issued since beginning of year.

Quite often, seems Norton issue updates very close to MS patch Tuesday updates. I don't like doing two app updates close together, if there is an issue, which one is causing the problem.

Thanks @lmacri, It's strange. Both announcements are created under blogs sections, notifications sent only for Mac and not for windows. We are looking into it.

Sunil_GA. The Mac version in my posting yesterday was 8.7.2. Just been in Product Updates, Windows 22.21.11.46 is now listed but still not any notification received. This has been an on-going issue since just after turn of year. During this time have received a couple of 'Test' notifications issued by yourself but not these are not working for the ACTUAL update notifications, are you sure that these are being done?. There was a time, when in addition to receiving the English notifications, was getting them in French, German & Japanese, even these are not coming thru' now.

Along with this issue, have another issue which is also covered by a separate thread about Anti-Spam maintenance not working which seems a common fault. Latest update is supposed to solve, early reports are that it does not. Also a few new issues arising from people that have updated to 22.21.11.46, too early to determine if these problems are more common. This latest update is supposed to check for general app updates, as far as I am concerned, Norton updates Norton, Google updates Google Earth, MS updates Office, Adobe updates Reader, why are Norton including this feature when the apps have their own updating system which no doubt is more accurate. Norton should be sorting out their own issues before dabbling in other apps. Confidence in Norton at a low again, lately, Norton processes that worked prior to update, do not work after updating, WHY?
