Not receiving emails from Product & Service Announcements Blogs

I am subscribed to the Product & Service Announcements Blogs.  On April 27 I received an email with Subject "New post in Blog: Product & Service Announcements."  I opened it, expecting to see a product announcement (such as a new version), but instead it just said "27-Apr-2021 | 12:01PM  Sunil_GA created Test.  Test."  I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that this went out to all (or many) blog subscribers as a test related to the new Community format.  But now I see that, since then, there has been at least one new entry in the Blog, and I did not receive it.  (I checked my spam folder to ensure it didn't go there.)

I just now unsubscribed then re-subscribed, hoping that will "goose" it.  But I thought I'd post here as well in case there are any suggestions or known problems with the emailing of updates from the Product & Service Announcements Blogs.  Awhile ago (maybe a year?) I stopped receiving the announcements, and Sunil_GA was helpful in getting them to resume for me.

@lmacri, We have a fix in place for this issue and waiting for a new announcement to be posted under blogs to test the fix status. Please make sure you have subscribed for the announcement blogs section.

Update: We made some changes(Backend fix) some time back to resolve an issue with notification emails that were not sent for subscribed blog announcements. We have a new announcement blog posted today, can you please let us know whether you have received a notification email for the latest announcement blog post?

MUI files for 22.22.1.58 update arrived this afternoon - NO email received advising of this issue - NO product update announcement in Product Update  Blogs - see last posting in this thread from Sunil_GA. Did receive couple emails 30th January relating to Android phones, these were sent by Gayathri_R  BUT even these do not appear on product updates listing either. Perhaps these two ought to get their heads together & solve this issue now, been going on for nearly a year now. Thought something might have been in the offering after Norton Crypto posting on 25th January.

I imagine a release notification (with an email) will be posted once release telemetry is deemed okay.

There has not been an announcement posted yet. So too early to say whether there is any issue with notifications.

As always, the update is made live for a short time to give Norton a chance to check the telemetry before the full release and then the announcement gets released. 

And I just installed the patch for the new version and it did remove the ncrypt from the 360 installation.

Received latest update notification email this morning after opening email, timed as sent just after 11:00 pm, I'm UK based, was not available at 6:00 pm when computer shut down. Let's hope this a permanent fix.

Same here, just checked after received last 2 postings - MUI files received YESTERDAY - NO NOTIFICATION  - joke is now over  SORT IT OUT NORTON - how many times have we been told it is sorted. Once again Norton releases at same time as patch Tuesday due, if something goes wrong, which is causing the problem - Norton or Microsoft ???, are Norton doing this intentionally, the number of times this happens is more than coincidence.

Sunil_GA is the person saying it has been sorted - Gayathri_R is the person posting on the new product releases - these two need to get their heads together to ensure Gayathri_R is informed how to send out notifications along with doing the PU posting itself.

Sunil_GA is the person saying it has been sorted - Gayathri_R is the person posting on the new product releases - these two need to get their heads together to ensure Gayathri_R is informed how to send out notifications along with doing the PU posting itself.

Gayathri creates and posts the announcements. It is the forum software that is supposed to send the email notifications. Sunil is just the liaison between the forum users and the forum developers. It is nothing to do with the two getting together.

BEWARE !Here we go again. Received MUI files this afternoon (UK) for 22.22.3.9. NO Notification received although SUBSCRIBED, NO posting in Product Updates. Why do Norton constantly do these releases without informing their PAYING customers, this would just be common COURTESY this has now been going on for 16 months now. Why does it not work ? Because it is NOT BEING DONE from Norton's end ???

Just be nice to know updates have been issued. Just done a manual LUD & there they were. Norton, I assume, have already tested so would not release prior to testing. Hold on a moment, they have done that in past (when they wiped out some Windows Scheduled Tasks as an example). Don't know what as changed - no visible difference. Morale of story - NEVER, NEVER do manual update like I did. I don't like being used as a unpaid tester.

I see that Norton Security 22.22.3.9 for Windows is now available! has now been posted in the Product & Service Announcements board, but I didn't receive an email notification. 

I did receive a notification for the 30-Mar-2022 announcement End-of-Support announcement for Norton apps on Android 6.x and 7.x so there's definitely something odd about announcements related to Norton Security for Windows.

Same here. The announcement was not available 8:00 am this morning in UK. https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-service-announcements/nort.... We keep on about not receiving notifications, Sunil_GA tells us we should be receiving them - as my dear old mum used to say, 'Should is a funny word', meaningless. Month ago Norton were looking at issue, 'Should' have been looking at it since the beginning of last year when this thread first posted. Changes mage to 'Updater'. Why not sort their own issues out like this one rather that tell us Firefox for instance needs updating, Firefox does not tell us Norton needs updating, In reflection, perhaps they should, Norton does not!

Firefox advises when a Firefox update available - they can do it.

A few updates back, top of main window a 'Messages' icon appeared, why don't Norton post update messages there, they installed the feature, why don't they use it?. Only had one message when they first installed the it and that was to say it was a new feature.

I likewise failed to receive email notification from the Product Announcements Board for 22.22.3.9 for Windows.  Ironically I did get indirect notification (as in the past) via emails with posts to this thread, like today's from mgirons and lmacri.

As I have mentioned before, we are not receiving emails nor postings to the inbuilt Messages function so I deduce that they are not being issued. Which takes me back to one of my previous posts - the person who tells us we SHOULD be getting notifications CONVERSES with the person who raises the updates & SHOULD be issuing notifications. Norton have 2 ways of doing this, via 'Messages' or emails, if notifications are being issued, surely we should be getting something from either or both - but NOTHING. Norton added the Messages function but are not using it. Yesterday I inadvertently installed update as was not aware there was an update out there.

Are you saying that you are not receiving any email notifications from the Norton Community when threads and forums/blogs you are subscribed to are updated or when someone sends you a private message?  For example, did you receive email notifications this week when Ardmore and I posted new replies in this thread?  In my case the only issue I have is that I'm not receiving email notifications when a new thread is created in the Products & Service Announcements blog I'm subscribed to, and only if the topic is related to a Norton for Windows product.  As you noted in your post <above>, this problem was temporarily fixed for you on 04-Feb-2022, and Sunil_GA already acknowledged <here> on 09-Mar-2022 that a backend change likely caused this particular problem to re-appear.  Neither Sunil _GA or Gayathri_R have any control over backend changes made to the Norton servers or forum software - all they can do is relay our concerns to the appropriate people in their IT department.

If you aren't receiving any notifications from the Norton Community then see if adding the email address "notifications @ community.norton.com" (without the spaces around the " @ ") to the Safe Senders list in your email client helps. NortonLifeLock recently changed their email domain from community.nortonlifelock.com to community.norton.com (see Sunil_GA's 01-Apr-2022 post in my 26-Mar-2022 thread Legitimate Emails Sent "on Behalf of Norton Community" Flagged as Junk) and if you aren't receiving any notifications from the Norton Community then your email client might be blocking messages sent from the new email address.

Imacri -Receiving responses to community postings as with this particular one providing of course have posted reply to that particular thread. Receiving email notifications for product updates for phones & Mac. Also something 30th March relating to support for older superseded Phone OS's. What is not coming through is any notification at all for updates for Norton 360 etc. that apply to WINDOW OS's. All as Ardmore's original posting 13th May 2021 which is the start of this thread. As you say, Sunil_GA on 9 March reckoned the IT department are looking at it but the fact it used to work + a one off a while back must mean the core of the notifications being issued was there and probably still is. Why do other products have notifications issued so why not for WINDOWS updates?. This is all do do I assume but lack of communication between Norton departments.

Update: Sorry for the delay in getting the blog (Windows release blog specific) email notification issue fixed. So far we didn't find any backend-related issue that might cause this issue. 12 months now of continuous waffling by NORTON on this subject. Keep making excuses, checking to find issue et. Still NOT solved. Conclusion can only be that notifications are NOT BEING SENT. NO email notifications coming thru' via email, NO notifications coming thru' integrated Message Center but other less significant/not applicable stuff coming thru' both channels - WHY is this Norton??

I can confirm that I did not receive an email notification for the 05-May-2022 announcement Norton Security 22.22.4.11 for Windows is now available!.

I believe the last notification I received was for Gayathri's 30-Mar-2022 announcement End-of-Support announcement for Norton apps on Android 6.x and 7.x.  You have to scroll far down the main Product & Service Announcements page to find that 30-Mar-2022 announcement (i.e., below the June/July 2021 announcements) and it's always puzzled me why announcements on that blog page aren't sorted by the Posted date [e.g., as opposed to date they were originally Created (drafted)??].

Imacri- same here, prior to that was a MAC update announcement. Gayathri_R is issuing these which are coming thru' via email notifications. So apparently the 'system' works except for us Windows users. Perhaps Norton can explain this with a reason on this thread - only will receive if notifications sent. Norton to provide copies of sent notifications for all platforms in last 6 months with dates issued etc., will be on their records.

If you re-boot your machine does Help | About show you were updated to v22.22.5?  Several users are posting in TibbiesForLife's Pop-Up From Norton360 Saying "Auto Update" to 22.22.5?? that they don't see any evidence that a product update was actually delivered after they saw this pop-up.

If you're still on v22.22.4.11 does running a manual LiveUpdate deliver a product update that changes your version number?

During day done 2 cold boots (normal daily routine),restarted, ran manual update, still on 22.22.4.11. As TibbiesForLife states, was not the usual system tray notification, only mentions 22.22.5 not the usual group of 4 as 22.22.5.x. Nothing has come thru' in LUD's history except normal daily items, nothing in MUI folder, nothing on Product Update page, last entry being 5th May re 22.22.4.11. I assume it is from Norton, if someone has hacked into Norton that then throws Norton's credibility completely into the bin - perhaps Norton will address this & provide us users with an explanation as a matter of urgency.

Could you please clarify.  Are you subscribed to the Norton 360 for Windows board?  Your image <above> of the email you received at 2:22 PM looks like it's an automated notification for the short post <here> that Gayathri_R pinned at the top of the Norton 360 for Windows board (i.e., not for the detailed release notes <here> in the Product & Service Announcements blog).

I have been waiting several hours and still haven't received an automated email notification for Gayathri_R's detailed release notes at Norton Security 22.22.6.10 for Windows is Now Available! in the Product & Service Announcements blog.  As far as I can tell the issue being discussed in this thread still hasn't been solved - I'm still not getting email notifications for product announcements / release notes related to Norton Security for Windows that are posted in the Product & Service Announcements blog.

Still no email notifications re. 22.22.6.1 even following Sunil_GA's postings of March 9th & April 2nd plus other previous postings. This appeared to be fixed February time when we received notification of one particular update, since then nothing. Other notifications seem to come thru' on other platforms, Norton trying to sell something etc. so basic system works - why does it not work for Windows updates? - evidently not being sent out from Norton. One of my previous postings requested Norton provide copies of these supposed notifications but no response yet!

Like to know what is happening - 5 years or so ago we began to get bad releases culminating in the one that deleted certain Windows Scheduled Tasks, since then been very cautious of installing updates. At least if you know updates are out there you can avoid inadvertently installing by manually running Live Update.

Email notifications today re. product updates, one for Norton Utilities, one for 8.7.5 Mac. Proves the notifications system works, have us Windows users upset Norton somewhere as we don't get notifications, the appear to have run out of excuses now, no notifications, no Norton responses.
