Not sure if i'm getting my NAV2008 updates

This is going to sound very stupid, but not sure if I'm getting my antivirus and worm protection updtaes. I think I am.

How would I know?

My Norton Security panel shows updated.

I have my updates set to check every 4 hours or so and download automatically

In my cache, it shows an increasing number of megabytes regarding updates.

In my Worm protection log portion of the Norton Logs, it shows more sigs added

I have my NAV2008 to scan when updates are obtained and it does run

The reason for my question is that I may have blocked inbound FTP. Isn't that the way the updates come in?

Re: Not sure if i'm getting my NAV2008 updates

In your logs, what is the Latest Intrusion Prevention Signature Version?

What is your Latest Protection Updates in the Settings' area?

By your Post, it seems to me that your symantec Product is up-to-date and that LiveUpdate is Downloading and Installing Updates; just make sure LiveUpdate is set to Express Mode (Control Panel > Symantec LiveUpdate). However, LiveUpdate will prompt you to Download and Install and Update which requires a re-start.

I would also highly-suggest that you set LiveUpdate to Run every-two-hours.

Re: Not sure if i'm getting my NAV2008 updates

thanks I can't remember the latest Latest Intrusion Prevention Signature Version full number, but I know it contained the date 7/24/08

And on my NAV security panel it showed 7/24/08

This was yesterday, I haven't been home yet today

Also I have mine set to automatically download the def and sig updates

I think I'm just like super extra cautious and worry too much :)
