NS Live Update

Hi,

Just replaced an expired NIS with NS. How often does NS do live updates? Can't find any evidence of "pulse updates" etc and the "Protection Updates" seem to run once every day, if that. Is NS staying as up-to-date as NIS did?

Also... this NS is a 5 user licence which has now kicked off. My other PCs are on NIS which doesn't expire until Xmas. Are they quite safe with NIS? Or do I really need to update to NS?

Many thanks,

Rowantree

Re: NS Live Update

Hello rowantree

NS checks for updates about every hour if you have Automatic Updates enabled. There are no more pulse updates with NS. You can also run manual updates when ever you want. NS is staying up to date because there is more protection using the cloud now..

You can update those computers now and customer support will add on the days left on the NIS subscription to your NS subscription.

Re: NS Live Update

Hi,

Thanks.

I'll maybe update the others over the next couple of weeks, there's 250 odd days left on the NIS subscription, will they just add that onto the NS one I started yesterday and should I install first and then ask or ask and then install? (might seem a daft question but one of the computers is far away at my mum's and I don't want to screw this up if I start it...)

Cheers,

Re: NS Live Update

Hello

Do you have 2 separate Norton Accounts? Or was your expired NIS on the same Account as the other computers have about 8 months left? I would give customer support and ask them if it matters. Usually, when you have left over days, you have to install and register the product on your Norton Account first before you can get the days added. I think this is a little different now because you are like combining like 2 different keys into 1 now. I would have the chat first since you do have the new key already registered.

Re: NS Live Update

Hi,

One account and it was 2 x 3 user licences 1 of which was up on Monday and is replaced by an NS 5 user licence which means I've 4 unused seats on that licence now and the other 3 NIS ones aren't up until Xmas. So whether to leave things be or to "promote" the 3 NIS ones into 3 of the 4 left NS ones... if that makes sense...!

Thanks,

Re: NS Live Update

Hello

I would give customer service a chat and tell them that you want to combine your 2 keys into one and you have already installed NS on one computer so far and would like to have the remaining days added onto your subscription for NS..  They might say you have to install it on one computer from the 2nd key and then they will give you the left over days..  Ask them how you should handle it so you can get your days added on.
