Anyone really got those bonus days? When should one expect them to be added? How many bonus days do we get?

Email was just sent to you.    All good things come to those who wait

Re: NS / NSBU subscription extension

Email was sent on New Years Day ( possibly automated). Then a weekend comes. Gayathri needs to wait for a sufficient time to receive all the replies. Then the extensions processed as a group.

Just my thoughts.

And I too thank Gayathri and Symantec for this bonus.

Re: NS / NSBU subscription extension

I do hope they will not wait for 100% replies, since some people may never check this forum again, or email associated with Norton account (Or may be once in 2-3 months, for example).

The bonus time will be added to your Norton Account. There will be no need to monitor emails or this forum.

Hmm...

FWIW, I interpreted the wording of Gayathri's email (at least the version of the email that I received) to require an acknowledging response/reply only if the Community User's email address to which the notification was sent is other than the email address which matches that of the the Norton Account to which the recipient's NSwB has been registered/activated...

"... Please confirm that your Norton account email address is the same as the one registered with Norton Community - 'Recipient's.email.address'. If this address is not your Norton Account address, please reply to 'Gayathri's.email.address' from that Norton Account email address to confirm you are the owner of the address. Please include your forum username in the email for clarification. ..."

Perhaps this was an erroneous interpretation on my part?

avjohnnie:  Perhaps this was an erroneous interpretation on my part?

Language is an attempt to communicate thoughts, concepts and ideas.   It's only an attempt.  Written communication understanding will always be subject to the reader.

Please confirm that your Norton account email address is the same as the one registered with Norton Community - abcdef -inbox.. If this address is not your Norton Account address, please reply to Gayathri_Rajendiran-symantec from that Norton Account email address to confirm you are the owner of the address. Please include your forum username in the email for clarification.

I read  << Please confirm that your Norton account email address is the same as the one registered with Norton Community - abcdef-inbox >> STOP << If this address is not your Norton Account address, please reply to Gayathri_Rajendiran-symantec from that Norton Account email address to confirm you are the owner of the address. Please include your forum username in the email for clarification >>  I read two confirmation requests.   At STOP I confirmed by reply email.   No harm No foul.  But, I do see your read.  Makes perfect sense.

Yes indeed - Written languages and their interpreted meanings...certainly a potential "Tower of Babel" to be sure...

Hopefully Gayathri (or another Admin) will chime in if they are expecting a response...

Kind regards,

John

What if emails for Account and Forum are different and user will not reply properly? Bonus will not and can not be added...

How would you confirm if you do not reply?

This is what I understand by reading the email. The user response is required for both cases.

Yes - I've noticed your recent comments regarding an "overflowing" abundance of notifications ... and hopefully they'll get it figured out soon.

My observation was to do with a somewhat different situation...

"Out of Office: Norton Account confirmation

Hi,

I'll be out of office from 21st to 29th September and will have very limited access to email. Please excuse any delays in response to your email.

If you do have an issue that requires immediate attention, please try my mobile phone at (redacted).

Thanks,

Gayathri"

Wherever she is, I think I'd like to be there too!  Where I am (in the northern hemisphere) it's only January and consequently it's still pretty darn cold!

Cheers!

Re: NS / NSBU subscription extension

Hi F4E, I processed the extensions, and they should all be done. I'll have to double check on yours, but either there was no Norton Security product associated with the Norton Account you gave to Gayathri, or you have a version of Norton Security that had some special conditions. I'll check again when I'm at my computer. Sorry for the trouble.

So, days extension be not be available in my Norton account upon activation of NSBU.   Sounds like days extension will have to be processed manually once NSBU is associated with my Norton account.   So, there is one 90 day or two 90 day extensions ?   May I contact you upon my NSBU activation / registration to request days extension ?

If you had activated NS/NSBU prior to the fix and had posted about experiencing the issue to the community? Yes.

Re: NS / NSBU subscription extension

Ok, so this was my scenario. After experiencing the long shut down problem with NSBU, I sent logs to Symantec as requested, and as I was close to renewal time with NIS and no solution had yet been found, I bought the new NIS keys.

When the problem with NSBU was fixed a few days later, I reinstalled NSBU and that's when Support added my NIS days to my NSBU sub. I'm assuming 90 days extension will be added to my NSBU sub, as have others. We'll see. Ping Tony_Weiss
