Ok Patch is available.

Ok so now the patch is available for v3.5, when will you resume distributing v3.5?  For whatever reason, live update did not work for me and I followed supports plan to reinstall.  That leaves me with version 3.0 on Windows 7 RTM, which just freezes up.

Re: Ok Patch is available.

A while ago 3.5 was released and some people who downloaded it or updated to it had some issues so 3.5 was pulled back from download sites and liveupdate servers. However, a patch was resleased for those who had 3.5 that were experiencing issues with it. Symantec are still working on a full fix to update 3.0 to 3.5 and when this ready it will be delivered via liveupdate. Until then the latest available version is 3.0.

Re: Ok Patch is available.

Im really getting tired of this.  Symantec has had plenty of time to get there act together with Windows 7.  If you look around there are plenty of security software makers that have already released Windows 7 compatible software or either continue to offer beta software.  Symantec only offered the beta for a limited time.  Many of us are in the middle of our subscriptions with Symantec products and expect more.  Windows 7 is here (and I have a non pirated copy), so why do you think you can drag your feet till October?  I know this must sound angry, but I am just frustrated and don't have money to waste on another subscription with another company.

Re: Ok Patch is available.

Symantec, like many other companies, could not be certain of the final build of Win 7 until it went RTM so the reality is that they haven't had that long to develope/test with the final build.

The Beta was run as long as deemed necessary at the time and then was stopped and the upgrade to 3.5 put out on the liveupdate servers as well as being available as a build on the download servers. Unfortunately, as stated in my previous post, things happened that meant the update and build were pulled. I understand your frustration at the situation (I'm jst a Norton user too) but Symantec are working flat out to get this resolved and I expect that something should happen fairly soon.

Re: Ok Patch is available.

O' brother! So I have a subscription to Norton 360, and running it on two computers.  Why would one computer get the update and the other not?  The computer that is running Vista, gets the update, and the computer that really needs it, running Windows 7, is still on v3.0.  Come on!  At this point I don't really care about live update.  Just post the update on the website and let us download it.
