online backup

I had 360 v5 & and program told me my computer was at risk & I needed to backup my files. I tried to backup to my on line storage but was told I only 7.0 GB & needed 2.1 more. So I purchased 10 GB additional storage & tried again, but received the same message back. My Norton account says I have 17.0 GB of storage, but the program still shows only 7.0. I have been running in circle for two days & I have updated to 360 v6 but with the same results when I try to backup. How do I reset my 360 v6 program to show the 17 GB storage I have?

Hi

   In N360-> Backup -> Manage Backup sets -> under where tab click Refresh List at the top -> Check the size available now.

I had already tried the refresh tab, but did not change to 17.0 GB storage. I also had connected Norton email Support and they have responded, (incident 506545093). They instructed me to manage backupset>>>create a new backup set>>> named new set>>>under what tab select files to backup>>>under where tab select location>>>under when tab select option required>>> save settings>>> under Summary tab choose default backup set>>> delete backup set>>> confirm deletion>>> run backup & check. All of which I have done, but the issue remains unresolved. Email support confirmed my account has 17.0 GB. My 360 backup only shows 7.0. It was suggested I contact online chat which I tried in the beginning but could not connect.

Do you have a Product Key for the 10GB you had purchased?

If yes,

      Did  you activated your Norton Online storage space with the product Key>

I have the Product Serial number: O007763761689. Date purchased: 2/13/2012. Storage Amount: 10 GB. Expiration date: feb 13, 2013. Licensed Installed: Household. Available Installs: --- Download: Not Applicable.

Hi

   In your Norton Account check the Order history for the Online Backup Product Key.

If you are unable to find the product Key contact our Support through chat to get it.

If you find the Product key go here and click activate now->log in ->Click  Subscription info-> Click Activate Norton Online Backup

->Enter Product Key->then click refresh under the N360 where tab.

I will either contact the chat line or the telephone provide by email support. I believe I may have discovered a larger problem. My original account with Norton was with a Dell laptop, which became toast and I replaced it with my current HP DV6500T laptop in 2007. I had contacted Norton and added this computer to my account and junked the Dell. I checked to access my backup file, (my account shows 4.89GB) and could not find the files. I also found that I could not access my Norton Account on my HP via the IE Browser. I can only reach my account information through the account tab on the Norton Icon. Is it possible my backup files have never recognize my HP since 2007 and none of the auto backups were actually saved online? Norton has been auto charging me to renew these files since 2007.
