online banking protection

I have read the article "End of Life" online banking protection. would like to know is there going to be a patch sent out or update ? As of now I don't see any banking protection in the Norton classic view interface (has been removed since last Norton version) and no banking protection in safe web. No box to check. Sometimes it's in safe web and then it's not. If I close my browser(Firefox) and re-open I can see banking protection in safe web until I open a website then it disappears. Any suggestions as to how I can verify if I have any online banking protection at all. Thanks.

Re: online banking protection

After several attempts of reloading Norton 360 and safe web extensions I have come to the conclusion the only way I can see any online banking protection is checking the settings icon in safe web and it will display in the next tab when using Firefox browser at the beginning and leaving the display on while searching other websites. As I went from one tab to the next the online banking protection will still appear as long as its still displayed in one of the open tabs. Once I remove the tab displaying the online feature it will be removed during the rest of my browsing experience from Firefox till I'm finished with needing my browser. If I close and restart Firefox online banking protection will appear again in safe web but it needed to be kept on display while using the browser. Most users would probably feel more secure if they could actually see the online banking protection icon but with Norton's new banking features eliminating it from Norton's interface as well We must assume it's working in the background keeping our online purchases secured and any other banking transactions on the web. If anyone else has found a new way to see the online feature elsewhere while using your choice of browsers let the community know. Thanks to the members who were able to seek out answers and guide me to a conclusion I'll have to live with till the next new version of Norton 360 comes out. At this time I am closing my thread as resolved.

I don't know you can verify Norton online banking protection other than having up-to-date Norton.

Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and several other protection features, such as AI-powered behavioral and antivirus engines, which will serve as the backbone to help keep your online banking and financial transactions protected and secure.

NortonLifelock has upgraded IPS to track all incoming/outgoing all network traffic. Additionally, IPS does not require our previous protection features Isolation Mode or Link Guard feature.

Our Intrusion Protection System is powerful and fast, and we are confident that our customers will remain well-protected against ever-increasing online threats. To benefit, customers will need to ensure that they have the latest Norton Safe Web extension, which includes IPS and several other critical browser protections against phishing and scam attacks.

Re: online banking protection

To bjm,

Well I reloaded Norton and reloaded safe web extension and have same results. No identifiers in safe web about online banking protection. So I will chalk it up as another unknown for Norton as they seem to make things disappear so the customer can once again complain about changes that don't work or we can't see anymore and we hope that Norton still has our back. Oh well that's the change of progress. Appreciate all the input anyway. I'll move on till the next update. Thanks.

Re: online banking protection

FWIW ~ I imagine Safe Web extension is in a transition phase.  Safe Web extension remains Version 3.18.1.8 Updated May 24, 2022, at this time.  I don't why/how Safe Web Banking Protection feature appears/disappears.

Sometimes I see:  Sometimes I do not see:
I imagine this Learn More page may need updating.

I imagine Norton Online Banking Protection will not be obvious as it was because we're not using Norton servers (isolate.norton.com) anymore.

The upside is that any sensitive site will be protected (not just supported sites).
The downside is that we lose the feel-good green border (supported sites).

Re: online banking protection

as test:  Norton Safe Web extension - Chrome store - Version 3.18.1.8 - Updated May 24, 2022
Banking Protection appears to work...on Edge...on ally.com.
~ toggling Norton Safe Web extension On/Off/On returns Norton Safe Web -> Settings -> Banking Protection feature.

as always, your mileage may vary
