Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

I just installed the Online Family Safety product yesterday.  I did some preliminary testing on my child's account and was pleased with the results.  I now have a lot of unwanted activity history.  How do I clear that history so I can give my child a "Clean Slate".

Please let me know.

Re: Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

Hi oscanuch,

The logs are stored in the OnlineFamily servers and they will get deleted after 90 days.  The feature of being able to delete by parents is not available yet.  It's on our enhancement list for the management team to consider.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

Katie,

Can I delete my child's account and create a new one?  I can use his full name instead of nick name if that is an issue.

oscanuch,

Sure you can delete the existing account and create a new one.  You can use the same name too.

To delete the account: Please go to Settings -> Profile (the existing account) -> click "Remove child"

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

Hi Katie:

I agree, this is a nice feature. I did follow the same pattern of the other user. I installed onlinefamily then I run few tests. It would be great to be able to clean up the activity history, alerts, so we can start a fresh page with the real activity.

Re: Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

Hi rickl,

If you delete the kid's profile online after you're done with testing by going to Settings -> Profile (the kid) -> Click  "Remove child" and creating a new profile for the kid, then you should get a new fresh account for the kid.

Giving the parent the ability to be able to delete activities is on our enhancement list.

Thanks,

Katie

Re: Online Family Safety - Activity history question.

Here's an idea for parents who want to test stuff without making a mess in a child's account.

Just like some kids have imaginary friends I have an imaginary child. I have a permanent limited account for that child on my computer and use it for testing all kinds of things both in NOF and other software. That way I can log in as the imaignary child and do all the things I think my real kids might try and see how it shows up (or not) in the NOF report. My imaginary child is registered with NOF, has an MSN account and a hotmail email address and is even registered as a student on some of the stuff I do in my job as a teacher. It is a great way of seeing how things work out without asking real kids to surrender their passwords.

That is a good idea Dgardner.  Thank you for the suggestion.
