Re: an Orange 2 on my Norton Icon

This is a new feature of the latest version of Norton Mobile Security, NMS, that works only with Android 8 devices. Apparently, it is an indication that there are unread notifications in the NMS app.

You can turn off these notification dots in Android settings as noted in this How-to Geek article.   https://www.howtogeek.com/324124/how-to-enable-or-disable-notification-d...

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: an Orange 2 on my Norton Icon

I opened a case for this on October 2, 2018. Escalated to level 3. Have not heard anything from the level 3 team, and the most recent app update with Android O support did not fix the problem. This is a new feature of Android, not Norton, and if you turn it off in Android settings you won't get notification badges for any apps if you want to see them.

Re: an Orange 2 on my Norton Icon

Different phones may display this differently.  Look for messages inside the message center.  Open Norton Mobile Security, bring up the side panel (hamburger menu at the top left), and select Messages.

There are no messages shown in the app, but the notification badge is on the icon.
