Outlook 2016 and Norton

Looks like this problem has been rumbling on for years with no resolution in sight...

I have:

Windows 10 Home
Outlook 2016

The Outlook account is set to IMAP, not POP. I wish to continue using IMAP to allow access and control from multiple devices.

Norton AntiSpam seems to have killed all spam/junk email filtering. I am now receiving emails from senders in the Outlook blocked list.

I have turned off Norton AntiSpam and removed the Norton add-in from Outlook, rebooted, but the problem persists. Spam/junk email is no longer being filtered out as it was up until I installed Norton.

What's the solution please?

Re: Outlook 2016 and Norton

Hello Tommy

I would suggest turning  off the email scanning in Norton as it will not scan Imap emails. It has to be POP. I would have Outlook do the email scanning and it does a good job at it. I have Out 2013 do my email scanning and it puts my scam in the deleted email folder. Between that and my ISP scanning, very few span emails make it to my inbox..

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: Outlook 2016 and Norton

Hi flopot

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I've already done that (and removed the add-in), but it seems Outlook looks to be permanently changed in some way.

I may try the Microsoft forums...
