Outlook runs incredibly slow and no memory to display calendar

Running Outlook 2016 and Windows 10. When I turn on the antispam plug in Outlook almost grinds to a halt. In addition when it does start up it does not allow me to look at some of the features. EG click on the calendar and it comes up with message that not enough memory available to display information. Switch off the pug in and everything is back to normal.

Any ideas how to solve this.

Hello

How much ram are you using? Is your hardware new enough for Windows 10?

Thanks.

It is a brand new machine and came with Windows 10. Only 3 weeks old. There is adequate RAM for this.

Hello Keith

Since it is a new computer, did it come with any trial security program? If it did, did you remove it using control panel and the removal tool from the other vendor?

Thanks.

Re: Outlook runs incredibly slow and no memory to display calendar

Hello Keith

I have Office 2013 and Win 7 Pro. I have turned off Norton Anti-Spam and let Office put the spam into it's Junk Folder. It does a pretty good job. There are a few spam emails that get into my Inbox, so then I put them into the Junk Folder. I check a few times a day and I don't let the Junk Folder get too large. That's how I handle any issues with Spam. This way I don't have any issues with it.

Thanks.

Re: Outlook runs incredibly slow and no memory to display calendar

Hello

Also Norton will only scan emails that use the default ports of 25 & 110. Since my ISP requires me to  use different ports, I can't use the email scanning either. I do use a program which tells me when I do have an email and that program does open up my Outlook. I don't seem to have any slowness with the program. My emails comes thru ok and emails get sent out ok also. Although I don't like the Address Book, it does work in most cases. No problem with Outlook checking Spelling. It will correct the spelling for me. In fact it also checks the spelling even in here for me and in other programs also.

Have you tried reinstalling Office if you are having issues with Office? For what I do with Outlook, it works fine. It puts my Spam into the Junk Folder with no issues.

Please remember I am not using Windows 10 and not using Outlook 2016. Perhaps that is the difference. For better results, we do need to ask someone who uses Win 10 and Outlook 2016. That might make a difference..

Thanks.
