Followed directions and uninstalled Norton 360 and re-installed to be able to change settings. Still getting Password Incorrect when I enter correct password. Any other solutions? Why doesn't Norton allow me to change my settings? (product is up to date with latest version as well as Windows)

Maybe, Remove & Reinstall tool retained Norton Settings.
Please confirm you're not using your Norton account password.
Norton Settings password may be different from your Norton account password.
Please confirm you're using Windows Admin user account.
Please confirm Windows Fast Startup is off. W10 [here] W11 [here]
Did you run Norton Remove and Reinstall tool -> Remove & Reinstall or Remove Only?
Norton Removal Tool -> Advanced Options -> Remove Only

Removed Norton 360 from Control Panel Uninstall Programs then went to my Norton account on web and downloaded Norton 360 again. Tried passwords for Norton 360 as well as Vault. I never had a Settings password. I am only one using computer so I am the Admin. Instructions at Norton 360 online to fix the Password Incorrect message stated that if I had other Norton products that I didn't want uninstalled to just use the Remove Tool. BJM_: Are you stating that I needed to do Remove only because that's what I did. Maybe will try reboot and see if anything changes.

Oh?! So, Norton Settings are protected by a password you never had.

I don't recall ever having a password to change settings. Program would just let me in. I have rebooted my computer and still get the Password Incorrect message. I will uninstall and re-install again and see what happens. Thx.

I uninstalled Norton 360 again but this time selected the 2nd option to delete my saved settings. It assured me that Password Manager would be retained. Then re-installed Norton 360 from my Norton Dashboard in my account online. And voila! clicked Settings to Administrative Settings and the full menu displayed WITHOUT asking for a password! Then scrolled all the way down past Silent Mode Settings and found Special Offer Notification and turned it off! So far, no more offers have popped up.
Hope this helps everyone with those annoying pop-up offers. Now can we get more details on the breach of our Password Managers?

okay, spoke too soon. The "New Norton Utilities Premium updates are available" pop-up just came up again just now, several hours after I turned off the offer notifications. What do I have to do to eliminate these pop-ups? I already paid for Norton Utilities Premium and it doesn't expire until 2050. Is that why Norton Lifelock/Gen Company keeps harassing me and others with these pop-up messages? If you install the updates then you lose your extended license to the Utilities.

That message is from your Norton Utilities program, to let you know that there are updates available to the program. It is not one of the incessant advertising popups.

No, I read the details on the Update. It changes the expiration to one year deleting the long-term Norton Utilities Premium program that I already have installed. The Update is to switch to Utilities Ultimate program but is only for one year term and is $40.00 more per year. I don't want it if I already have a working Utilities program that is good until 2050. I wish there was some way to shut off the pop-ups. I have complained to the FTC categorizing these constant pop-ups as harassment.

Have you checked your Norton Account lately? That 2050 expiry for Norton Utilities Premium, NUP, was for a bonus offer for having Auto Renewal set up for your 360 subscription. That bonus offer is no longer valid or being offered.

I noticed when I removed Norton 360 and re-installed it, my Norton Dashboard no longer showed that I had Norton Utilities but the program still works on my computer. As long as I don't update to the Ultimate, I'll use it as long as I can. I also found that the Alerts toggle is in the My Norton not Classic launched view. Under Notifications, Special Offers change to Critical.

I found the Notifications section in the My Norton and switch it to Critical messages only. Maybe that will stop the Pop-ups. Will see tomorrow when I reboot.

As I mentioned elsewhere, the NUU pop-up is not coming from N360. There is no setting in N360 that will stop it.

So is it true that the norton remove tool will remove norton despite not having an administrative password for Norton 360?

I think I still had to be logged into my Norton 360 account to uninstall Norton 360. And checked yes to delete all data. Then re-installed. I am the Administrator on my computer. Then used My Norton not Classic View for Settings changed to Critical notifications. I also double-checked the update being offered for the Utilities program and it did not try to change the program I had with expiration date of 2050. So Norton 360 is working good for now and no more pop-up message finally. Until I renew that is, could come back, who knows. I know how to shut it off now though.
