Password Manager Will not turn off

If I set my Password Manager, or I guess the Vault, to close after 15 minutes, ask for my password at the beginning of each session or before filling in a form and have after going to sleep checked it only asks for me to sign back in after a reboot or I sign out.  Otherwise it is always open and I have to manually sign out. Nothing seems to change the settings.  I am running the latest version of Google Chrome on an HP all in one.

Re: Password Manager Will not turn off

The settings you seem to be accessing are from your Norton Security product...correct?  Those settings will only affect the IE browser. The Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers are no longer connected to the Norton Security product, so any settings you make there will have no effect in those browsers.

In the individual browser extensions, there is very little control over how the vault will work. And no control over how long the vault will stay open. By default, it will close every time you close the browser.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Password Manager Will not turn off

If I close the browser it stays open. So the problem is Chrome and Norton don't play well together.  I'll have to work around it as I have been, change browsers or change password managers.  Thank you.

Re: Password Manager Will not turn off

If the vault stays open when closing Chrome, check your Chrome Advanced settings for an option to allow background apps to run when Chrome is closed. Scroll down the the System section. Be sure that option is turned OFF.

Re: Password Manager Will not turn off

Thank you.  That solved the problem of it staying open even after I closed the browser.  I feel better knowing if I don't sign out at least Password Manager is closed.
