Pc not responding after Norton support remote controlled my PC!!!!!

I had a situation where I restarted my pc after a game crash and after i restarted, the norton program was gone from my computer. I wasnt sure if it was updating or not but I chatted with norton support, they remote controlled my pc and they were installing the program. After they were done (I think), the guy asked if I allowed him to go to safe mode and he did. The next thing I know is my Pc wont post anything in start up. No logos not even bios. PLEASE HELP I BASICALLY HAVE A $1000 GAMING PC PAPER WEIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all which Norton support did you contact? The official one? https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/contact-chat?inid=hho_n...

Secondly any gamer should have a backup image of their pc. Do you have one you can mount?

i was a gamer for the longest time. Built my own machines. Any true gamer would always have a backup image so when you over clock and lockup your pc you can fix it easily. Also as a gamer you know everything about a pc and do not need to call tech support or chat with them to fix an issue. Seems to me you chatted with a scam chat. Did you chat with the link I posted? Have you tried powering down your pc completely? Unplug it then hold the power button down for 30 seconds? After that disconnect the bios battery and reinsert it? Do you get any post beeps?

I will try removing and installing the bios battery and yes i flipped the power supply switch then the cable and held the power button to draw out remaining power and turned it back on but no change.

Windows has a backup/ disk imaging program itself. But there are many 3rd party solutions which are free and better. I myself use Aoemi Backupper. Always backup to an external hard drive. This also sounds like a hardware issue which is completely unrelated to a tech support call. If your pc does not post that means there is a hardware issue. Any pc gamer should be able to diagnose a boot problem himself. You only learn by diving in. Did you build this machine or buy an already made gaming machine from something like Falcon Northwest? Was it overclocked at the time? Did you play around with your ram timing?

Re: Pc not responding after Norton support remote controlled my PC!!!!!

I will lern more on creating image backups for my pc. Thanks. A similar case happened to me when no posts came up on start up because my cpu was fried due to me not having a 2133MHz ram stick and because i was using a 3666MHz stick which fried the cpu. I think it may be the cpu however I have not had any problems with any hardware at all and the situation where the last time i fried the cpu was in march this year. I encountered my current issue right after he was trying to boot in safe mode.

Re: Pc not responding after Norton support remote controlled my PC!!!!!

Hello, thank you for the help. However I was able to fix my problem myself. It turned out that I switched my ssd that had windows to another pc and it booted up correctly in the other pc so i knew it wasnt my pc. I disabled the safe mode norton put my pc in and switched the ssd back into my pc and connected back my hdmi from my mobo to my gpu and I saw windows again. The issue was that norton put my pc into safe mode yet my pc reacted to it very weirdly but im glad it wasnt a hardware issue.

Norton does not put your pc in safe mode. Do you mean that the Norton Chat Support Tech put your pc in safe mode? Safe mode is part of Windows. Again it is VERY important to have a backup image of your pc. It will save you tons of trouble.

Re: Pc not responding after Norton support remote controlled my PC!!!!!

Safe Mode is something built into Windows. You stated your pc would not boot. Not even bios. That means it is a a hardware issue. To get into Safe Mode you need to be able to load Windows. You claim you could not even load Windows. Which means it is a hardware issue and will most likely return. Be sure your ram is snapped it tight. Be sure all your PSU connections are tight. Especially ones to your mobo. Check your BIOS for any new flash updates. Basically it could be numerous things but completely unrelated to Norton Chat Support.
