Re: pop ups from Macafee saying i have a virus

Hello Arlene. First question is do you have McAfee installed or did it come pre-installed? If not clear your web browser cookies and cache files. Second question is what browser are you using and what operating system are you using?

Third run a full system scan to allow Norton to pickup anything that might be malicious. If nothing is found download and run a system scan with Malwarebytes. It will detect things Norton doesn't concentrate on. Whatever it may find select the items, and have it remove them all. Make sure you restart your computer. Let us know what your results are.

Your browser displays fake McAfee notifications

McAfee is tracking an increase in the use of deceptive popups that mislead some users into taking action, while annoying many others.  A significant portion is attributed to browser-based push notifications, and while there are a couple of simple steps users can take to prevent and remediate the situation, there is also some confusion about how these should be handled.
