Power eraser question

Given the recent firewall issue and the fact I discovered I had the windows December 3 live update bug, I was considering running power eraser.  Just out of my paranoia, no real issue.  However I just want a report, no fixes.  I have noticed norton tends to fix first and not ask if you want to do so.  Any way I can just get a report?

Re: Power eraser question

Norton Power Eraser lists things that could possibly be threats and lets you decide what to remove.  It does not look for confirmed malware, because your regular Norton protection would find that.  What NPE presents are files that you may want to investigate if you are having otherwise unexplained issues with your PC.  If your computer is not infected, the things that NPE finds will be benign and should not be removed.  If anything looks suspicious to you, investigate it first before choosing to remove it.

Re: Power eraser question

Thanks, ran computer scan and did not find anything worrisome.  Which is good.  I became paranoid after running file cleanup one time.  It just went ahead and deleted the files as well.  Granted it is a pretty innocuous program.
