Problem installing NIS on my new Win10 laptop

I've just set up my new HP Envy Win10 laptop and am now trying to install software.

The first thing that I want to do is to install NIS but every search I've done for installing NIS tells me that NIS is now Norton Security. I know that but I have a three-licence NIS.

Where should I start please?

Win10 Home v1803 build 17134.345/HP envy/EDGE (rubbish)/IE11 (RIP)11.285.17134.0/ OFFICE 365 Home Personal/Norton Security

Hi Taffy_078,

Log into www.mynortonaccount.com and download NIS from there.

Also be sure you uninstall any trial security software that came with your new laptop using the removal utility for that software. If you let us know what the software is, we can direct you to the correct utility.

Do this before you install NIS.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Problem installing NIS on my new Win10 laptop

Thanks both. I'm doing this on my old PC as things are installing on my new one, right next to it.

I took my cut-throat razor to quite a few of the Apps in the tiles of my new PC including AVG.

I installed NIS on my new PC with help from Ballistic's link above. It shows that Norton Toolbar & Norton Identity Protection are installed. I've just opened the Vault but what's still missing is Norton Search.

I'd installed IE11 and made it my default browser so I've just gone into Settings -> Manage Add-ons -> Search providers. Amazon was there - not now - and only Bing is showing.

"Find more Search Providers" didn't have Norton but - again, I don't believe it, -

as I type this, I've seen on my new PC a window from Norton popping up asking me to enable Norton Search and make it my default. That's bl**dy great timing and I'm now thrilled at having successfully got my dear NIS in place.

Thanks again both. Much appreciated
