A Problem Installing Windows 10 Feature Update 20H2 and A Proposal For New Features That For Norton Security Products

Dear Norton Community,

My computer is ready to finish installing Windows 10 Feature Update 20H2, but every time the update that is mentioned above attempts to finish installing on reboot, the installation fails. Therefore, can you please investigate this problem? Second, I kind of wish that the Norton Secure VPN feature was able encrypt data just on each individual device which can use it instead of through an internet server system. Third, it would be a wonderful thing if the Norton Safe Web browser extension feature, and the Norton Secure VPN feature could prevent and block the display of all online billboard poster, pop-up, and video ads in all apps which use the internet, in order to prevent a malicious ad from infecting an individual device with malware. Fourth, my current Windows 10 computer which I am using has Norton 360 for Gamers (Version 22.21.11.46) on it, and I wish it had a feature which allows for on-demand, manual scanning and detection of malware that injects itself onto software and firmware drivers of internal computer hardware that differs from the computer’s hard drive. For instance, like the computer’s graphics driver processing unit, the motherboard of the computer, the sound card, etc. Now with this being said, what is your opinion of this post and how fast should Norton implement the proposed features that are mentioned above?

ALEXANDER DOUGHERTY:

Dear Norton Community,

Is there an error message indicating that Norton might be involved in this? This sounds like a Windows Update error, rather than Norton. Are you getting this update from Windows Update or some other source. Are you referring to Update 21H2?

Second, I kind of wish that the Norton Secure VPN feature was able encrypt data just on each individual device which can use it instead of through an internet server system.

Your data is encrypted by the VPN software on the device being used before it is sent out to the internet. I'm not sure what you are suggesting about an internet server system. VPN's protect data going out over the internet. If you want to just encrypt your data on your device, there are other products that can do that. A VPN is not designed to do that.

What you are looking for is an ad blocker extension for your browser. Norton does not provide that product.

Norton does have an on demand scanner. You can use the Scanning feature to run a quick scan of your system. You can also scan an individual file or folder from Windows Explorer. Just right click on any folder or file you wish to check and then click on Norton 360 and Scan Now.  But you do not need to do this as Norton already does scan every file that is accessed, including drivers.

Now with this being said, what is your opinion of this post and how fast should Norton implement the proposed features that are mentioned above?

Any suggestions for product changes have a long process before they could be accepted and implemented. This is not something that could be done in weeks or even a few months. If there are issues with a Norton product, these can be fixed much quicker, sometimes even within 24 hours if the issue is serious enough.
