Product key problem

My father had brought Norton security for one device.  When he went to the site to download it. The Norton security came on his screen To "renew" ( from online renew, he Cancel  it) Expect he clicked without knowing it was to renew online. When he already brought the Norton security  from the store staples. So when he tired to install it the Product key wouldn't work. Any way he can get a new one. Other wise money was wasted.

Hi Krissy33,

So you think he renewed online by mistake?

Open the main GUI and at the bottom it will tell you how many days are left. If he renewed online the days left should be seen there.

And you can save the product key from Staples for next year. Don't enter it now, wait until next year and your NS is near expiration before using it.

No he didn't download it renew it online. But the thing did pop up and he did click it. What i meant was when he noticed it was online he clicked it off. Then when tired to download it off the site it said the product key was already used. So it didn't download.

I bought it online they gave me the product key online to update but isnt reading it. It is stating that the product key is invalid as well. Anyone have any advise?

Did you buy it direct from Norton on line or did you buy from a third party? Norton does not sell keys alone like that and so any you buy on line without more than just the key is likely to be bogus or already used.

Do contact Norton CHAT as already suggested and they will clarify for you.

If it turns out to be bogus I hope you paid by credit card and enter a dispute with the credit card company.

Please let us know the outcome.

Hmm, I've found Staples customer service very good.  Maybe, ask for store manager or regional manager. 
And Norton Chat Support should be able to help or advise how to proceed.

The simplest thing is for you to contact the Norton OnLine Chat service via your computer keyboard as below and as auggested already and they will definitely resolve this for you.
