PUA.OpenCandy

Norton Internet Security (version 22.5.5.15) continuously detects PUA.OpenCandy as a low-risk threat. The Action suggested is Fix (Exclude is greyed-out). I click on Go to fix the threat. I get a Threat Resolved green box. I close the box.

5 minutes later it comes back.

How can I remove this threat definitively?

Thanks

Re: PUA.OpenCandy

Have you tried restarting your computer after the Norton Fix?

Some malware can dig deep into your system and find ways to hide and replicate itself.

I would suggest you sign up at one of the free Malware Removal sites below. Do not try to do anything on your own as it could make things harder for the Malware Removal expert at that site to help you. Choose one and stay there until your system is clean.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: PUA.OpenCandy

As most here may know, I don't normally recommend any scanning software, but in this case the free version of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware will should deal with Open Candy, if that is all that is on the system.  That said, I also agree with Peter's suggestion to go to one of the free malware removal forums.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.
