Question about email changes

I changed my email address and it shows under my Profile as having been correctly changed and verified and I even use it for my current logins. However, all notifications about new posts of my subscribed threads are still being sent to my previous email address.

What may I be missing?

Re: Question about email changes

Alright, alright... Such a simple move and so much sweat for having it finally resolved!...

Well, I had done all that has been suggested by both of you, except for one little thing -- I had not logged out. After logging out, this last message from Peter was the first one to come to the new address. Cheers!

As it turned out, I guess I must give the Resolved badge to SoulAsylum, along with my sincere thanks to Peter for his continued support, in this one as in so many other questions.

Take care and may God bless you both.

Re: Question about email changes

It is possible that the subscriptions need to be updated as well. Try unsubscribing from a thread you follow. Then subscribe again. Then check to see which email address the notification goes to.

Re: Question about email changes

I just did what you suggested and I will report back when I receive my next notification.

Thanks.

Re: Question about email changes

Back to report that unsubscribing and re-subscribing did not do it. I keep receiving my notifications to my old email address that I intend to deactivate.

Any other suggestion, please?

Thanks.

Re: Question about email changes

Following up: I notice that under my Account settings there is no way that I can see to change my email. I did change it in my User Profile page and it shows as changed. For some reason, it seems to not have been applied to my Account settings. Does this make any sense to you?

Thanks

Re: Question about email changes

Hello LinYu2 Change your email address within your Norton account online. Your login here I tied to that,  I know mine is. Hope that helps.

Cheers

Re: Question about email changes

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.  However, as I wrote before, I could and did change my email in my Norton Account user profile already. I have no problem there. My question is, I seem unable to find where to change my email address so that all notifications from thread activity are delivered to my new email addressed, as they keep being received at my old address. It seems there is no automatic sync between different Symantec's servers and, on the other hand, there is no visible place, if it exists, to change it anywhere else.

As the situation is right now, I sign in with one address and receive email notifications at a different address.

Re: Question about email changes

LinYu2 From your forums account settings under "edit" it has an area for updating your email for the forums which directs us to login to our main Norton account. Since you have done that please log out of the forums and allow time for everything to synch. Log back in again later and see if things change. You MAY also see an email from Norton for your to verify the new email address as well.

Re: Question about email changes

That's how did the change and I also received that email for confirmation of the email change. That's where I see that my new email has been "verified". All looks fine, except for the notifications.

I'm going to logout and see what happens. I hope this does the trick...

I any case, I'll report back.

Re: Question about email changes

You can place any email address in your forum profile. As SoulAsylum was trying to explain, you have to log into your Norton Account at   https://my.norton.com  Then click on your email address at the top right and click Account Settings. Then click the Personal Information tab. Then click on the little pencil icon to the right of your email address. That will allow you to change your email address for your Norton Account.

Then, as SoulAsylum notes, that same email address is required to log into the Norton forums. So your notifications should then be sent to the new email address.
