Question about the new Norton Community Forum

Hi all,

Today I had to reset my password to access the new Norton Community Forum and I found some things that I cannot understand

- The last post where I already answered or the ones that I still had to answer are gone, both for the Norton Internet Security Forum as well as for Norton Toolbar / Identity Safe Norton    Forum.

- Yesterday I got a new rank from "Phishing Phryer" to "Super Phishing Phryer" and now I'm back to "Phishing Phryer"

- I had more than 190 kudos and now shows 91 kudos.

For the last two questions I'm not too worried but I would like to know what happened and if anyone else has experienced what I have described above.

Thanks,

Sandro

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

Hi Sandro,

Same here, I have more than 200 kudos missing, but I do not care at all, they can be reset to zero, "no cool, no warm".

Same reaction if my rank switches to "newbie" or not.

However, I have all sent PM's missing, and many of my latest posts equally.

And I do not see any count for the provided solutions from my part.

Cheers!

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

Thanks for your answer, Apostolos

I agree about the kudos etc ... but where are the posts that I had yet to provide an answer? and those that I had already answered to see the status of the thread?

Very annoying this ....

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

Sandro,

According to the mods, everything should be back in order in a couple of days, I personally predict that it could take a bit longer, but as long as everything is restored, ok...

I've also noticed that when I reply to a thread, it does not appear in the first rank as before, so I have to remember the thread and seek... annoying...

I don't like the "look" of the new forum.

It would not recognize my old password.  It had to send me a reset link.

The notices posted at the old Forum indicated.  User would have to do a password reset.

I used my same password upon password reset.  The reset was just imo to get you to the legal stuff.

Once you agree to the legal stuff you're golden.  Only thing I changed in my vault was https:

As far as not liking the look...well, hopefully the look will grow on you.

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

I did like the old forum, and I have to learn how this one works and we will start to like this one, I miss few threads and other things, but perhaps the will pop up.

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

It would seem that all the threads and messages issued the last few days have not been merged to the new Norton Community Forum, have you noticed this too?

edit:

I just found the answer on Forum Feedback

This forum is pretty screwed up right now.

Hot threads are missing.

If I go to a hot thread from my account the chronological order of the posts in the thread is all messed up.

Very few of my new topics or replies are being displayed either.

If I go to a hot thread from my account, starting on page 2, the chronological order of the posts in the thread are all messed up.

I posted the thread link in a reply, but the post with the link isn't showing.

Good question I was sort of wondering what that was all about as well

The admins and moderators are trying to get things setup and not all of the features are working as expected

I'll use my new Administrator powers to correct the problem  -  Oh wait!  I don't have any powers.

We just need for the dust to settle and we'll see everything return to normal.

It wasn't this slow yesterday.

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

I tried to browse several threads and quite often I'm getting a "You are not authorized to access this page" message.

Good luck with the new "red" house...sorry, I meant "Forum".

Hope next week when maybe the new NS & NSwB will be released, that the situation will stabilize here, because if there are bugs with the new products and people need help, well if the situation remains as is, they will get everything... but help here...

P.S. Already tried to post this on the Forum Feedback but when I post I see:

Access Denied

"Moved to Norton 360 Board for better exposure."     NO COMMENT

As far as I could see all ranks have been messed up with the platform change, and I believe the correct ranks will be restored when things will be working correctly again.

Could Symantec tell is when we will be able to properly uses this new forum again?  This is impossible with all the bugs it currently has.

Re: Question about the new Norton Community Forum

I don't think they know when that will be. The forum continues to be fairly useless or more importantly, timely.

Simple posts get queued and you might see them if you come back in a few days.

So many posts from before the changes are missing or in the wrong order, and using functions of the forum continue to be notably slower than in the past.
