Question on Norton Safe Web Reviews ?

Late nite while doing reviews on Norton Safe Web my total reviews when I secure for the nite was 1,086 reviews. When I went to Norton Safe Web this morning the total is 975. Where did my 111 reviews go to? I need someone from Symantec to explain what happened ?

Has anyone from Norton looked into this problem ? Still missing about 111 reviews.

Has this ever happened to anyone before?

Hi Tom,

I have added some reviews since last post. Still missing about 111 reviews. I have changed my email on my account about a month ago, but even with the new email it showed correct number of reviews. Then a few weeks  after changing email that is when the reviews disappeared.

Re: Question on Norton Safe Web Reviews ?

We will take a look at it. As you had indicated you have added some new reviews but are still missing the original 111 reviews. The recent network issues have resulted in a backlog of work, so it may take a couple of days.

Re: Question on Norton Safe Web Reviews ?

I have received a PM from KhanhT (Symantec Employee) and I would like to post part of it:

"We recently performed manual evaluation of thousands of user reviews. Several of your reviews were found to  provide very little useful information. Those reviews include the same text string “This website is safe and secure” and are at risk of being detected as spam by our automated system and might be deleted. While we would like to see the number of user reviews increase significantly, we believe that having better quality reviews is much more important. We would like to encourage you to update your reviews to include additional information about the site, your experience with the site, why you think it is good/bad, what user should know about the site."

About 111 of my reviews were deleted.

LESSON LEARNED: Add more information to the reviews and do not use the same text in each or it may be at risk of being detected as spam and  deleted.

Thank you for the response and I will be going back and adding more information to the reviews.

Hi PTD,

Glad to know that you got it clarified. I'm sure your "Lesson Learned" will be a good one for few other interested participants who would like to submit their reviews. I'm going to kudo you as a token of appreciation for sharing it with the rest of the community members :).
