Question re: Norton Internet Security

Hi all, I was gifted 2013 Norton Internet Security 1user/3pc's, brand new in a sealed package. This is probably a stupid question but can I use it to extend/renew my current installation of NIS or do I have to buy the current version? I am currently running 2013 NIS I purchased in 12/2013. Thanks so much!

Re: Question re: Norton Internet Security

NIS current version (or not current version NIS) v21.6.0.32 may be renewed with unused NIS 2013 license key.  As new subscription period will start.  Best to wait a day or two before current sub expires.  See Subscription Status main NIS UI.  You may always Chat with Norton Support to add unused key and / or remaining days.
New service Norton Security may not be activated with NIS key>
New service Norton Security must be purchased / installed / activated for Support to add remaining days from current product and any unused keys.

You may also Upgrade NIS v20 (2013) to NIS v21 (2014) for FREE.  Right click System Tray Icon > Check for New Version.

After FREE Upgrade to NIS v21 (2014) run LU till no more updates restart as required and run LU again till no more updates.
Always prudent to export backup csv & dat format if you utilize ID Safe.  Note csv is clear type that may be opened in Text Editor so protect csv creds.  Dat format is encrypted.
