Questions about Guru privileges.

Hey everyone:

What privileges are given to Guru's, aside from their own Icon, allowing Animated GIF's and (super) Star status?

Is there an increased Edit interval on a post, for example?

Just for fun.

Re: Questions about Guru privileges.

Hi Plankton,This information is only known by the Gurus and Symantec staffers. Highly classified ;-) No one in this forum is allowed to sport animated avatars, by the way (which is just as well, otherwise my ladybug would be absent all the time)  :-)Message Edited by Yaso_Kuuhl on 01-08-2010 05:11 PM

Re: Questions about Guru privileges.

Actually you know what is the biggest privilege of a Guru it is the ability to help someone overcome a problem NOT for their (the gurus) benefit (in getting kudos, green checks or even extra bits to play with on the forum) but for the person asking for help.I think it is a privilege and carries a huge responsibility to answer in the best interests of the person asking for help.I think the extras pale in comparison to that.

And Symantec places a lot of trust in you gurus to do the right thing by them (not in the fanboy sense) and yourselves as your answers reflect a little insight about yourself. (food for thought )

Re: Questions about Guru privileges.

Hear, hear, Mo.  Very insightful.  I don't believe that any of the gurus ever posted for the pupose of becoming gurus.  Most of us never even considered the possibility.  If the person's interest is in doing the best possible for each user, rank really makes no difference.  It isn't something that you need to help another person.

Unfortunately rank does not come automatically packaged with more knowledge.

Thank you. I couldn't agree more!
