Quick question about subscription

Hello, just want to clarify one thing that I am not sure. Well, I'm currently using Norton Security Premium and I have 155 days left of subscription. Now, I recently found pretty nice deal for extend my subscription for another one year. And I want to make sure that once I'm logged into program and then click Help > Enter Product Key, Norton will automatically add new 365 days to the current status of my subscription and then I should be at 520 days? I know that I can always contact Symantec Support and they will transfer that, but I want to know if Norton can do this by itself? Can anyone done that this way and can confirm that?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Quick question about subscription

Hi got3n,

Whenever you enter a new key, it starts a new subscription period and the "remaining days" are not retained.  The old days are only retained when you renew through Norton

If you purchase a new product, you are purchasing a new subscription separate from your current product, so the new subscription will not be added to your current subscription.

Re: Quick question about subscription

Ok thanks, that's exactly what I was afraid. So I guess I will take advantage of this good deal and buy it anyway and then enter product key after my current subscription expired.

Re: Quick question about subscription

What you can do, and I have done a number of times, is make your purchase. Then contact Norton Support and ask them to add the time from the new product key to your existing subscription. www.norton.com/contactcs

Or you could make the purchase and store it until you have a day or two left on your subscription and then enter the new key.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Quick question about subscription

Hey, look what I just found on Norton Support official youtube channel it looks to me like Norton actually added remaining days of subscription... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hhbsym806kY

What do you think about this guys?

Re: Quick question about subscription

That only happens if you purchase directly from Norton. If you purchase from another retailer, probably saving $$$,  what yank says above is what will happen.

Re: Quick question about subscription

Hello got3n

Norton products go on sale quite often. You will probably find a good sale again which will be closer to the end of your subscription. Then you will be able to just enter the new key into your product if it's running well.

Thanks.
