Quit Browser

I am trying to load AntiVirus 12 onto a Lion machine.  I click on the install and everything goes well until it says for me to quit my browser - Safari.  I have quit it, rebooted, never used it, and the installer still says for me to quit the browswer.  I can not go any further.

Re: Quit Browser

Hm, that's very odd.

Can you try running this command in Terminal:

1. Open the Terminal application in Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal

2. Type or copy & paste "sudo ps -axwwww | grep Safari" (without the quotes)

3. When prompted enter your password.

This will give us a full process list that contains the word Safari. Please paste the results here.

Sorry for the problems.

Re: Quit Browser

I had the same problem and discivered it was Xmarks bookmark sync for Safari that was causing this.  I useed Activity Monitor to quit Xmarks and it worked fine.
