reading .v2i, .iv2i, and .sv2i files

My current computer is a desktop running windows 8.1.  I have a hard drive from another computer that I now need to read and/or use the files.  I can see some of the files which are widows system files and when I open them, there is no content.  The files I want to see and use are grey rectangular boxes carrying the file name Bill-PC_C_Drive00.  This was the computer name I used for the old system which died.  The files have file types .v2i, .iv2i, and .sv2i.  I have no idea what these files are, but may be important ones to me that I wanted to save.  I no longer have my copy of Norton Ghost, but in trying to install Norton Ghost from another person, my computer indicates that I cannot install it in windows 8.1.  I googled the file types and was told they are Norton Ghost file types.  The name given the entire hard drive is Clone Drive.  Is there some way I can retrieve these files, or at least see what they are so I can decide if I need them anymore.  If anyone has any idea or knows how to get these files back, I would be very grateful.

Download this...

ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/linked_files/Ghost/Norton Ghost Image Browser.exe

It will open your files so you can retrieve what you want.

Wow, redk9258, you are the BEST!! you must be some sort of Genius.  This is exactly what I needed, and I have been able to recover some long lost files that are irreplaceable.  They are music that my mother, Aunt, and dad (and me too) sang and recorded on old vinyl records in 1947 and 1948.  The records have so deteriorated that I am not able to extract the music again, but thanks soooo much to you, I have now been able to recover them from an old hard drive that I had backed up prior to an old computer dying.  I just can't say how much this means to me....

Glad it worked out for you! It's good to have (valid) backups. More are better.
