Recaptcha - PLEASE REMOVE THIS DISTRACTION!!!

I have two factor authentication activated for my Norton account.  I do NOT need to ALSO repeatedly verify who I am on NORTON's behalf!!!  To undergo repeated Recaptcha verification each and every time I log in (sometimes having to screen as many as ten tests), only to once again be asked to do so AFTER I've entered my code is asinine and calls into question Norton's ability to secure its systems (Oh, the irony)...

Please get rid of this pile!!!

Hello. Conversely, what would the response be should someone or bot actually gain access to your account credentials IF, RECAPTCHA were not present to prevent it? Recaptcha doesn't call into question Norton's ability to secure its system but rather just the opposite. Make sure you check the small checkbox in the login / 2fa screen labeled "trust this device". That SHOULD prevent the recaptcha from being present every login.

Re: Recaptcha - PLEASE REMOVE THIS DISTRACTION!!!

In response to your reply, I will clarify: ReCaptcha in and of itself is not the issue; rather, Norton's recent changes have resulted in its application in the extreme.  Prior to the split between the consumer and enterprise businesses, when logging in, I submitted a password - something that I know - along the Symantec VIP Access code - something that I have, associated with my phone - as part of a straightforward two-factor solution, which I seek to apply wherever I can to ensure against possible malicious infiltration.

Post-split, the second factor moved to an SMS text from Norton and the issuance of a one-time code; apart from this switch, no real change in approach...all good.

Recently, ReCaptcha has been added in addition to the longstanding two-factor authentication, and here is where the experience deteriorates.  I've no issue with ReCaptcha as an additional guard against malicious infiltration.  However, as presently implemented, Norton does not retain the prior verification for subsequent log ins within the same browser window/session...this is ridiculous.  Further, the verification tests often require as many as TEN iterations...WtF?  I have NEVER experienced this in prior scenarios...

Finally, I choose not to select to trust this browser (and it IS to the browser that such trust is applied, as each browser will prompt another verification cycle) and clear cookies with each session, perhaps ironically in response to your reply, to guard against their potential manipulation.

Frankly, I put to Norton...what changed such that they felt this additional layer of verification is now necessary?  I eagerly await a reply from Norton.
