When I look at my devices on the management screen, some have a red x in the upper right corner and some have a green check. What do these mean?
Hi, gcc. Symantec keeps a record of all your device subscriptions in your management account.
The one in red are used ones, and the green ones are the active subscriptions shown under Services.
You can check your active ones, by going to the drop down tab and selecting Active Devices.
Also be aware that there are issues at present with the functionality of the Norton Management system. It has not yet been disclosed by Norton as to the scale/number/regions of those affected by this issue. I do know that at present I am affected, and I have been since at least last week when I first became aware of some of the issues with the NM feature...
When a device from the devices screen shows a red X, there is something not completely correct with that system. It should tell you what is wrong with each system.
It could be as John says at this time, that there are some server issues with the Management features. If the system cannot connect with the Norton servers, the status cannot be updated, and can show an X.
I agree that this problem is due most likely to the server issue that is presently occurring. Even if you can connect to the Management Portal, the device activity may not be correctly reported.
Just as reminder, in order for Norton Management to correctly report the status of your devices, the Remote Management Setting in your Norton Product must be set to ON.
This is a good reminder yank, mine is always set to ON but I think this might help anyone who is not aware of this feature.
