Redmi Note 4 parental control not wokring

I have recently installed Norton parental control in redmi note 4. But the restrictions are not working. I have been using it on windows pc for more than six months. There is no problem there. But redmi no restrictions are working. He is able to see all the blocked websites from chrome and time restrictions also doesn't apply. Application data usage is set as Norton. please help urgently. I have paid for the subscription expecting some protection for the kids and this is frustrating. I am getting alerts on my mobile that time restriction is reached and website is blocked but still he is able to use the mobile. Please provide a solution

Re: Redmi Note 4 parental control not wokring

Hi Anitha Sathis,

Welcome to Norton Family forum.

From our backend logs, we also notice that there were website blocked activities and time restriction activities reported from the device.

In some Redmi devices, we have seen that the block screen gets shown only when "Display Pop-up window while running is background" option is enabled. This option is generally available in application settings (Settings -> Apps -> Permissions -> Other Permissions->Norton Family)

Please enable the option and restart the device for the changes to get reflected. Lets us know if this worked

Thanks and Regards,
Abhilash

Hi

Yes i am able to block the websites from being used and the time settings work. But regarding Youtube it is already available by default. Is it possible to prevent the usage of this app.

Thanks & Regards

Anitha

Re: Redmi Note 4 parental control not wokring

Hi Anitha,

You can block the YouTube app from App Supervision. Please go to family.norton.com portal and block the YouTube app in App Supervision and explain your child to use only Norton Family app to watch YouTube videos. This way you will also get report on what kind of videos he/she is watching.

If you don't want your child to have access to YouTube at all, then please block it in Web Supervision too.

Thanks,

Team Norton Family
