reinstall fails, no client anywhere

hi there,

After a second install of Norton Family there is no client visible ( in systray nor programs), only de-install norton family is visible in programs;

first time install went ok, windows system recovery messed things up

OS: Windows7 sp1 home premium

browser: Google Chrome 222222222222226.0.1410.43

Other Norton: Norton Internet security 20.3.0.36

Hi johanijssels,

Please follow the steps below to reinstall the program again to see what happens.

  • Start your browser.
  • Connect to the Norton Family site (https://onlinefamily.norton.com)
  • Click on ‘Sign in’ button.
  • Enter your Norton Family account Email address and Password
  • Click ‘Sign In’
  • In the bottom left corner of the website (near the footer) Click on ‘Download Norton Family’  
  • In the next page loaded, Click on ‘Download’ button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions and install the Norton Family client.

Hi there Katie,

I installed (again).

 I booted to be sure; no luck. The installer says installed ( in dutch), the link to re-activate leads to the website and tells me to start the norton product and enter the productkey,which I found in Norton Account. Norton Family is listed there  with a expirationdate as none. I cannot  start  Norton Family to enter the productkey

Please send us the "link" you mentioned.  Also, please post a screen shot that asks you for the product key.

Hi Katie,

The link goes to https://support.norton.com/sp/nl/nl/home/current/solutions/v63471109_EndUserProfile_nl_nl  which is not relevant to Norton  Family, I suppose as it's free.

The attached screenshot says in Dutch;  'Norton Download management', 'Norton Family Installed', the 'Complete' button has no effect.

Thanks for the information.  Please click the link on your attached screen that says go to the downloaded files.  Please check if any previous versions and/or duplicated Norton Family installers are there.  If so, please delete them and download Norton Family again to see if this helps.

That did it, to be complete I removed Norton Family in the meantime.
