Removing a blocked site from Norton's Black List

Hello,

I am responsible for a web site: http :// cmp.civil.auth . gr, hosted in a server of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, AUTH, in Greece, and developed with WordPress.

It seems that, somehow, someone managed to plant the following phishing threat cmp.civil.auth.gr/asociacion.popular/APAP in the site. The same threat was also reported that appeared and in other web sites.

The threat was found, removed and passwords were changed.

However, this threat is logged in Norton Servers, and although the threat is removed and the site is clean, due to the log, all users having installed Norton (Identity safe plugin or relative) are warned that the site is dangerous.

This is absolutely unacceptable and Norton should rescan the sites marked as threat and check if threats are still there, and if not they should stop warning users.

My question, how do I contact Norton to remove the specific site from it’s black list?

Please it’s URGENT.

Re: Removing a blocked site from Norton's Black List

Hello.

The page was not found because it was removed, but until a few hours ago Norton reported the http://cmp.civil.auth.gr site as a threat.

I do not know how it was removed from the black list. Maybe actions were taken from the University since the relative threat affected many sites.

I was wondering how could someone find the url (https://safeweb.norton.com/help/site_owners) that you pointed to me.

Thank you so much bjm_.

Re: Removing a blocked site from Norton's Black List

Hello Demetrios

Your website is still listed as a red blocked site.  It has not been removed from the blocked list according to Google. I can ask the Safe Web Team to re-evaluate the website, since you said the site was cleaned up.

Please stay tuned to this website for a response from the Safe Web Team on Sunday night after midnight EST.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Hello floplot

Thanks for your reply. Please do so, ask them to re-evaluate.
There must be / should be a mechanism in order to directly ask / request for re-evaluation, not to mention that re-evaluation should be taken place automatically after half day, one day etc. I am sure that this would take seconds. The re-evaluation could also be as an option in the warning message the same way that you may ask to visit the site.
The existence of a warning of an infected site is good, but what about the trouble this causes if the site is immediately cleaned-up and the warning remains? In our case it could had blocked information flow, conferences registrations etc.

Best regards
